05:48 naors Hi experts,
05:48 naors I installed Openstack Juno using the latest Fuel-7.0.
05:48 naors I was able to install a controller and two compute nodes using the PXE boot process.
05:48 naors I now need to add another compute node. I was able to put it into PXE boot and bootstrap it but
05:48 naors when I go to "Fuel Dashboard -> Add nodes" I cannot assign any role as it doesn't seem to recognize
05:48 naors the new node. I will very much appreciate your help.
06:23 naors Maybe because from some reason the bootstrap process installed centos_x86-64 instead of an ubuntu-14.04_x86-64. I tried to manually select the ubuntu but from some reason it only accepts the centos selections. Does anybody have any idea?

14:41 Sloo quick question
14:42 xarses joined #fuel
14:43 Sloo is it possible for openstack cinder service to provide no downtime to VMs, when for example want to change some cinder configuration, such as setting multi-backend settings? I guess to apply this settings cinder restart service should follow?
14:44 Sloo let' say i have some openstack set up on the filed, but i want to add some options afterwards, without too much of disruption of the serivce?

15:37 Miouge Sloo: if you use the cinder ceph backend, then you can restart all cinder services without any downtime for the VMs or block devices

16:11 Rodrigo_BR Hello Guys !
16:11 Rodrigo_BR I am using the netapp cinder nfs drive in kilo release, when a try execute the live migrate I receive the error:

17:51 thumpba joined #fuel
17:53 mwhahaha krypto: which vip? the public vip? you can just 'pcs status' on one of the controllers and see which node is running the vip__public i think
18:00 krypto thanks mwhahaha it works

20:48 ols is it possible for attached volume to be in different ceph pool than virtual machine itself. Let's say that my default MOS install puts my VM into compute pool, is it possible to create cinder attached volume to be part of different pool  with some other replication factor for example?

22:15 mwhahaha i'm sure you can configure it after the fact manullay, but i don't think you can via fuel at this time

23:13 lquince I assume this is after deployment?
23:15 mwhahaha yea that's what i was referring to
23:17 xarses lquince: the cinder and compute pools are in-fact separate
23:17 xarses if you create a cinder volume it will come out of the cinder pool
23:18 xarses if you create a ephemeral volume (ie don't specify the root from cinder) it will come from the compute pool
23:18 mwhahaha yea but i don't think you can specify a different replication facter for each one can you?
23:18 xarses building too it
23:19 xarses if you want to use a further pool besides those two, you can configure another backend in cinder, and then specify the types (in config some and api some) and can even associate flavors to these backends
23:20 xarses each pool in Ceph inherits both the default replica, and the default CRUSH map, both can be altered after deployment according to your needs
23:20 xarses since they are already created, we won't touch them
23:20 xarses (again)
23:22 xarses so you can re-configure your replica count from 2 to 3 on a per pool basis
23:22 xarses but possibly more fun, would be to change the CRUSH map and control which OSD's are part of which pool

23:27 lquince It could be worth the dev's having a look at https://github.com/inkscope/inkscope to be created as a plugin..
23:27 xarses Any one is free to create a plugin to include tools like this
23:28 xarses there are too many choices with different focus for us to include one at this time
