01:14 newbism Hey the GUI is different between Admin system -> network -> create network and Network -> Networks -> create network.  The system network create network in horizon gives a drop down box for "Provider Type"  whereas the other page does not.

02:50 newbism why is bridge_mappings=physnet2:br-prv not br-aux ?
02:51 newbism what is br-prv? I don't see it associated with any physical interface
03:00 newbism sigh ugh
03:01 newbism was hoping I could create a vlan and have VMs and physical systems on the same network?
03:01 newbism private vlan is a trunk... just set a different port to access?
03:02 newbism network_vlan_ranges =physnet2:990:1000 this is what I set in fuel setup, and assigned to eth4 but i don't see where physnet2 is associated with ethic?
03:02 newbism eth4

03:04 newbism /etc/network/interfaces.d/ifcfg-br-aux:bridge_ports eth4 p_e52381cd-0 so eth4 is br-aux not br-prv ?
03:20 newbism br-aux is eth4 but mappings is set to br-prv ?
03:22 newbism ah p_e52381cd-0 is also associated with br-aux eth4 down in ovs-vsctl show
03:23 newbism okayyyyyy

12:37 slo_ let's say i want to set "rbd cache size", which is set within ceph.conf file within MOS set up. If i want for this attribute to be different size, where within Fuel setup/configuration files can I change this to be different, before I make an environment deployment through Fuel GUI?

17:16 krypto hi i have updated DNS server in fuel menu but /etc/resolv conf is still the same any idea?
17:19 krypto i can manually update resolv.conf but running fuelmenu overwrites it
17:20 fzhadaev_ Hi krypto. Which version of fuel are you using?
17:21 krypto fuel 6.1
17:27 magicboiz joined #fuel
17:40 fzhadaev_ yep. as far as i can see in code, fuelmenu in 6.1 release overwrites this file anyway.
17:43 vsedelni_ joined #fuel
17:43 krypto fzhadaev_ it overwrites with 127.0.0.1 instead of whats given in menu
17:44 fzhadaev_ yep. I see the same.
17:46 fzhadaev_ This logic was changed in next versions. I can try to research why it was so in 6.1. Also, maybe mattymo knows the answer.

18:17 mwhahaha so you don't want to update the resolv.conf
18:17 mwhahaha what happens is it's updating the dnsmasq instance on localhost for the upstream resolvers
18:17 mwhahaha which is why it keeps setting it to 127.0.0.1
18:17 mwhahaha other wise you'll break fuel from being able to communicate with the deployed nodes
18:29 e0ne joined #fuel
18:32 krypto thanks now i understand the logic :)
18:36 krypto but /etc/dnsmasq.upstream is pointing to 8.8.8.8 is this expected? and inside dnsmasq.conf i see "192.168.21.90" which is my dns server i added in fuelmenu "server=/serverrack05.pvtcloud.com/192.168.21.90"
18:57 mwhahaha i'm not sure the priority of server vs resolve-file in dnsmasq
18:57 mwhahaha the docs seem to point that server takes precedence over resolv-file

19:49 yahofcourse hey so if i need to make changes after deployment, say, to the dhcp agent, do i make them in the deployed environment or on the fuel master?
19:50 ericjwolf joined #fuel
19:50 ericjwolf Good afternoon.  I was reading the online docs and it looks like it is not 100% updated for fuel 8.0
19:51 yahofcourse or, i dont know, say my cert for horizon expired and i want to update it.
19:51 ericjwolf I was lookinga t the upgrade section and it references all the previous releases but not 8.0.  If I have a running 7.0 can I upgrade to 8.0?
19:52 krypto mwhahaha i changed /etc/dnsmasq.upstream to new dns and its working otherwise its not
19:52 mwhahaha might be a bug, i'm not completely sure
19:55 krypto thanks for your help mwhahaha :)
19:55 skamithi13 joined #fuel
19:55 mwhahaha if you have some time, please report a bug around this so we can get it fixed. it seems like we should be updating the dnsmasq.upstream file but i'm not familiar enough with that bit of code to say what happens
20:03 yahofcourse right, so after the inital deployment all of the custom config is done in the environment itself

21:31 ericjwolf mwhahaha, The other day we were talking about an install issue I was having on Fuel 8.0 with my remote KVM server.  I foudn the issue.  In 8.0 you'all changed the boot parms and it is looking for a install media on the sr0 device.  Well turns out that the KVM is mounted as sr1.  I had to maually modify the boot paramters in the fuel.  May want to add some notes in the documentation or release notes.
21:31 mwhahaha well that's interesting
21:35 magicboiz joined #fuel
21:59 yahofcourse why would a volume backed vm throw disk errors 5-10 minutes after its booted
