07:24 ntt Hi, I'm trying to use fuel and I need to understand what should I pay in case of production environment. I don't understand if I have to pay some kind of license to mirantis and I'm a bit confused. Someone can help me please?

08:52 ntt ogelbukh: thank you. Actually I'm using fuel downloaded from here -> https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Fuel#Where_to_get_Fuel  that seems the non-mirantis version. Is this correct? Actually I see that preconfigured repo are belongs to mirantis openstack. SHould I change repos for use openstack free version?

09:04 ogelbukh there's a brochure under Support Options tab at the page
09:05 ntt yes...but there are no prices
09:05 ogelbukh for pricing you should contact our customer service here: https://content.mirantis.com/contact-us-landing-page.html
09:05 ntt ok
09:06 ntt and what about repositories preconfigured in fuel?
09:15 ogelbukh I don't think you need to change them
09:28 ntt thank you. Can I install an openstack environment based on centos using fuel?

16:02 anddrew21 Hey! Is anybody having troubles making snapshots on mos 8.0? i'm using ceph backend, and if i'm making a snapshot on an instance, with let say 30 GB, controllers in corosync/pacemaker cluster refresh themselves.
16:04 Marcellin joined #fuel
16:05 anddrew21 So, for 1 minute, all services are down, then cluster is rebuild, and until i delete the snapshot image witch is in saving state, cluster is refreshing every couple minutes.

20:10 adam_g anyone here know much about the fuel-kvm scripts?
20:10 mwhahaha the what?
20:11 mwhahaha adam_g: are you taking about fuel-devops?
20:12 adam_g mwhahaha, im talking about this, https://github.com/skolekonov/fuel-kvm.git
20:12 * adam_g checks out fuel-devops
20:12 mwhahaha those seems to be from skolekonov_away
20:13 adam_g mwhahaha, looks like fuel-devops does something similar? kvm-based fuel dev env?
20:13 mwhahaha yea
20:13 mwhahaha envs actually
20:13 mwhahaha it lets you manage multiples
20:13 mwhahaha we use it to power our CI
20:14 adam_g mwhahaha, so the deployed fuel master will setup its cobbler to interface with the hosts libvirt for provisioning?
20:14 mwhahaha devops will create all the networks and such for you
20:14 mwhahaha we have some fuel-qa scripts that can do some automated testing via the devops scripts
20:15 adam_g not sure im that far yet--still struggling to get a functional dev env up to get cracking on a small plugin
20:15 mwhahaha it's not as complicated as it sounds
20:15 adam_g vbox isn't really an option. gonna give fuel-devops  a try now
20:16 mwhahaha https://docs.fuel-infra.org/fuel-dev/devops.html
20:16 mwhahaha follow that
20:16 mwhahaha it'll get you there
20:16 adam_g mwhahaha, many thanks
20:16 mwhahaha protip: if you download the fuel-devops git, switch to the release/2.9 branch
20:17 mwhahaha but if you just want to follow that guide, use 2.9.20 (i think that's the latest) instead of 2.9.11

22:00 adam_g mwhahaha, fuel-devops question--is fuel going to just use whatever network its gotten from libvirt's dnsmasq to seed its network configuration  for pxe/etc?
22:00 mwhahaha no from the fuel master i believe
22:01 adam_g mwhahaha, derp, thats what imeant
22:02 mwhahaha yea so that's the 'admin' network
22:02 adam_g (im assuming dos.py admin-setup $env is what sets up the fuel master)
22:02 fatdrago_ joined #fuel
22:02 mwhahaha so for fuel-8+ you need to use admin-setup-centos7
22:02 mwhahaha (don't get me started on that one)
22:06 adam_g oh, good to know
22:08 skamithi13 joined #fuel
22:10 skamithi13 joined #fuel
22:11 bildz joined #fuel
22:11 adam_g mwhahaha, are the libvirt nets created by dos.py meant to serve dhcp?
22:12 mwhahaha dnsmasq gets run for each of them on the host but i don't believe it serves dhcp
22:12 mwhahaha because we statically set the ip for the openstack networks via fuel and the admin network dhcp is handled by the fuel master
22:13 adam_g mwhahaha, ah ok. had one amdin node drop into a manual post-install setup and it looks like it either didnt get netconfig or defaulted to 10.20.0.1 (the admin net is 10.21.0.x)
22:14 mwhahaha sec let me get you the commands i use
22:15 adam_g oh hm
22:15 mwhahaha dos.py create --vcpu 1 --node-count 5 --ram 3096 --net-pool "10.122.0.0/16:24" --iso-path <path_to_iso> <env_name>
22:15 mwhahaha dos.py admin-setup-centos7 <env_name>
22:15 adam_g so poking at the booted ISO install
22:15 mwhahaha so if you want to use a different network, adjust the --net-pool
22:15 adam_g the ip address passed to it via the kernel command line is on the wrong net
22:16 mwhahaha right that's why you need admin-setup-centos7
22:16 mwhahaha they changed the cmdline args in centos7
22:16 adam_g mwhahaha, i did
22:16 mwhahaha right but you also need to do the --net-pool when you create the env or it'll drop it on the wrong network
22:16 mwhahaha dos.py net-list <env_name>
22:16 skamithi14 joined #fuel
22:16 adam_g ah, ok
22:18 mwhahaha then when you go to setup your env in the fuel master, use the output from dos.py net-list <env_name> and adjust the network configuration
22:18 mwhahaha the disadvantage of doing it via dos.py is that you have to do that part by hand
22:18 mwhahaha if you use fuel-qa to run a test to setup the env, it'll setup the ip addresses for you
22:39 skamithi13 joined #fuel
22:42 adam_g mwhahaha, so i couldn't for the life of me get the correct ip passed over to the vm's kernel. it was working at one point. so i just created the env with a net-pool to match the default and seems to be working ok
22:43 mwhahaha odd
23:09 adam_g are bootstrap images specific to the environment or can they be shared between dev envs?
23:55 adam_g hmmph.
23:56 adam_g when i kick off a deployment, fuel reports nodes are provisioning, but they actually never reboot out of the bootstrap image
23:56 adam_g any hints?
23:58 adam_g however, when i destroy the environment the node itself gets the message to clean its disks and reboot
