06:13 magicboiz Hi,I'm testing MOS8.0, but I have some questions regarding FUEL network definitions and VLANs. I have a lab environment where the compute machine is physical, but the controllers are Virtual Machines. My problem is related  with the VLANs definition: I can trunk VLAN against physical machines, but I cannot make 802.1q trunk against Virtual Machines (the controllers). Is it possible to define this option in FUEL (web or cli)?
06:43 rongze joined #fuel
06:45 reddy on which hypervisor did you created your Virtual machines ?
06:48 reddy if it is on KVM then just create bridges for each interface on base machine and assign that  same in controller interfaces in fuel .
06:51 magicboiz KVM hypervisor
06:53 magicboiz you mean, attach to the VM the physical host interface....?

14:19 ggolin i searched the channel logs and couldnt find anything - have there been reports of glance-cache-manager problems with fuel-8?
14:19 ggolin namely it complains about not finding the auth service
14:21 rongze joined #fuel
14:21 ggolin like so http://paste.openstack.org/show/494236/
14:21 ggolin everything else works.
14:22 mwhahaha and  you sourced /root/openrc?
14:22 mwhahaha wonder if it's something where you have to specify v2 or v3 for auth
14:22 ggolin oh yes. sourced.
14:24 ggolin hrm, check this out, in glance-cache.conf: auth_url = http://localhost:5000/v2.0
14:25 ggolin so its not respecting this setting then?

14:40 ggolin i mean it looks like this is a fallback setting
14:40 mwhahaha is there an equivalent in the openstack command?
14:40 mwhahaha ie openstack image cache <something>
14:40 ggolin not that i could find. i did look there first.
14:41 ggolin no, openstack only has create delete list save set and show

16:26 adam_g is it possible to set the default gw that slave nodes use /w fuel-devops?
16:27 adam_g it seems to be get set to the fuel master node, but http requests get blocked there and repo access fails.. or should they be using a proxy provided by the master?
16:45 mwhahaha fuel devops should setup ip tables rules for forwarding for those networks
16:46 mwhahaha make sure you correctly setup the network values for the environment that match dos.py net-list <env>
16:51 adam_g mwhahaha, in the panel that configures public/storage/management/etc for the env ?
16:51 mwhahaha yea
16:51 mwhahaha those values are used for deploying the nodes
16:53 adam_g mwhahaha, in that panel, the 'public network' should point to the the dos.py public network, or the admin network? ive got it set to the the dos.py public network, maybe thats my issue
16:56 mwhahaha public
16:56 mwhahaha admin network is the pxe/bootstrap network
17:00 adam_g hm
17:01 permalac joined #fuel
17:01 adam_g so ive got it the fuel environments public network pointing to dos's public network (10.20.1.0/24), bootstrapping and provisioning nodes come up with their default GW set to the fuel master's address on the dos admin network (10.20.0.2), which wont forward the traffic
17:04 mwhahaha the fuel master should proxy that
17:04 adam_g wait--surely the nodes would need a functional default gw on the admin pxe/bootstrap network
17:04 adam_g mwhahaha, via iptables or a squid/etc proxy?
17:04 mwhahaha iptables
17:05 adam_g doesn't look like theres anything relevant in there
17:05 adam_g atm im racing in to change the gw during bootstrap and provisioning, things seem to work then
17:06 adam_g oh wait
17:06 adam_g -A FORWARD -s 10.20.0.0/24 -i enp0s3 -m comment --comment "050 forward admin_net" -j ACCEPT
