13:58 Sketch mwhahaha: btw, it looks like fuel will let me set a node as virt, compute, and ceph OSD.  so maybe it can do what i want, and the controller will just live on libvirt outside of nova.  then i can have one controller on each physical node, which ought to be redundant enough.
13:59 Sketch assuming i can get a working network setup, anyway.
13:59 mwhahaha interesting
13:59 mwhahaha that's one way to do it

14:02 Seafire Hello everybody, I have a quick question: I'm trying to install some plugins for Fuel (Using Fuel 9) like the ovs and ldap plugin, but as soon as I install one the Fuel Web UI stops responding. Then if I remove the plugin it starts working again. Has anyone had this issue?
14:04 mwhahaha that's a new one
14:04 ekosareva_ joined #fuel
14:04 mwhahaha Seafire: any javascript errors?
14:05 Seafire not as far as I can tell, I'm trying to disable all plugins right now
14:06 mwhahaha does the cli still work?
14:06 Seafire yes
14:08 Seafire when deployment has finished I'll try adding only one plugin and see if it works
14:12 Sketch gah.  provision finished, didn't give me any errors on that node, but the vm still doesn't start.  same error as before.
14:13 Sketch so, network template didn't help
14:13 mwhahaha :(

14:15 Seafire Ok, I only have the ldap plugin installed and not activated in any environment. When I click on the environment on the Fuel Web UI the page doesn't load (like all other pages except for the initial one which shows all the environments)
14:15 Seafire I get the following Javascript error: TypeError: initialAttributes[sectionName] is undefined
14:18 mwhahaha looks like the ldap plugin is breaking the ui
14:18 Seafire and as I said the CLI works
14:18 mwhahaha where did you get the ldap plugin?
14:18 Seafire I built it from sources (git repo)
14:18 Seafire the fuel-plugin-ovs gives me the same error
14:19 Seafire and both of them are compatible with Fuel 9 according to the readme of the git repo
14:19 mwhahaha jaranovich, vkramskikh -^ thoughts?
14:26 jaranovich hi Seafire! what's version of Fuel do you use?
14:28 jaranovich guess its fuel 9
14:29 jaranovich do settings of your plugins have 'metadata' section?
14:38 jaranovich i do not see  initialAttributes[sectionName] code in 9.0 ui code
14:38 jaranovich but found the following commit https://github.com/openstack/fuel-ui/commit/ecb908c2
14:38 jaranovich looks like it fixes your issue
14:39 jaranovich if you install plugins after environment was deployed
14:40 jaranovich looks like this commit doesn't exist on your iso..
14:41 Seafire ok
14:42 Seafire I'll check if the code is included and if not I'll add it myself
14:42 Seafire thank you for the info
14:43 jaranovich you are welcome) please write if this commit won't help
14:44 Seafire yes
14:45 Seafire I'll let you know tomorrow since here in Switzerland the work day is almost over ;)
14:45 jaranovich ok :)

16:16 dano_ Hi all!  I'm having trouble building images with fuel 8.0.  The images in /var/www/nailgun/ubuntu/x86_64/images/ get written as zero byte files.
16:30 mwhahaha dano_: the bootstrap or provisioning image?
16:30 HeOS joined #fuel
16:32 mwhahaha there should be a log file in /var/log/docker-logs somewhere for the build that might have useful errors
16:34 akscram Could someone provide advice why fuel ui tests failed here? https://review.openstack.org/#/c/339005/
16:34 dano_ I'm not sure if this is the bootstrap or provisioning image.  I'm trying to rebuild an environment.  Found the nodes were looping trying to pxe boot, and traced it down to those two empty images.
16:35 dano_ fuel-bootstrap build --activate  <-- this seems to update the timestamps on those files, but still they wind up 0 length
16:35 mwhahaha if they are looping then it's the bootstrap
16:35 mwhahaha should check for fuel-bootstrap-image-build.log
16:38 dano_ ahh.. I see now..  That log has an old timestamp and a bunch of these entries " Failed getting release file http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/trusty/Release\n'"
16:38 dano_ How do I rebuild that?
16:39 mwhahaha that seems to be connectivity related
16:39 mwhahaha has that been fixed?
16:39 dano_ I can curl that Release file now, so it was likely temporary
16:39 dano_ Yeah, I think it is fixed, the mtime on that log is Mar 28
16:40 mwhahaha https://docs.mirantis.com/openstack/fuel/fuel-8.0/fuel-install-guide.html#configure-a-bootstrap-image
16:40 mwhahaha i assume you can delete then build

18:42 Sketch mwhahaha: my coworker found this...sounds like reduced footrpint + vlans is not possible.  https://bugs.launchpad.net/fuel/+bug/1488617
18:43 mwhahaha but it's fixed for 8?
18:43 Sketch funny that the reduced footprint docs don't mention this, even pointing to vlan network templates
18:44 mwhahaha cause the bug seems to point to that it can be fixed with network templates in 8
18:44 mwhahaha network templates, aka black magic
