03:17 jackdastripper How can you manually disable PXE DHCP on eth1? This is driving me nuts, the fuelmenu will not remove it during or after install.

12:20 jackdastripper My 9.0 deployments using L3 HA keeps failing. Here's the only error I can find that points to the cause. [1733] Cluster[]: All nodes are finished. Failed tasks: Task[copy_haproxy_keys/1], Task[copy_haproxy_keys/3] Stopping the deployment process!

12:44 mwhahaha jackdastripper: so that's the task to copy files
12:44 mwhahaha do you have a /var/lib/fuel/keys/<env #>/haproxy/punlic_haproxy.{pem,crt} ?
12:45 mwhahaha also are the nodes 1 & 3 available?
12:45 mwhahaha check the mcollective logs

12:59 AlexAvadanii small bug: 1. deploy env 2. delete targetimages for env 3. redeploy => fuel UI progress jumps to 80% (as if the target images were still there from the previous deployment), and stays there, while building the target image once again

13:04 AlexAvadanii and small typo in docs: http://docs.openstack.org/developer/fuel-docs/userdocs/fuel-install-guide/bootstrap/bootstrap_install_kernel.html "Non-standard kernels, which were not verified with the Fuel packages, can brake your system." => s/brake/break/

15:09 Kdecherf is there a way to force remove unassigned nodes from fuel?
15:09 elopez joined #fuel
15:11 Kdecherf found it
15:15 jackdastripper mwhahaha: The keys directory does not exist on those nodes.
15:17 jackdastripper There are only two errors in the mcollective logs and they repeat twice.
15:17 jackdastripper 2016-07-29 05:23:12ERR05:23:11.799113 #1473] ERROR -- : agents.rb:71:in `rescue in loadagent' Loading agent puppetd failed: cannot load such file -- puppet 2016-07-29 05:23:12ERR05:23:11.799012 #1473] ERROR -- : pluginmanager.rb:171:in `rescue in loadclass' Failed to load MCollective::Agent::Puppetd: cannot load such file -- puppet
15:20 AlexAvadanii I also noticed those errors (cannot load puppet), but I did not have time to look into them further; they don't seem to cause any real trouble, afaik
15:22 mwhahaha jackdastripper: did the generate_haproxy_keys task get run?
15:22 mwhahaha also that path is on the master

16:45 Kdecherf I see a IndexError: list index out of range on File "/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/nailgun/network/manager.py", line 742, in get_network_by_netname / fuel 9.0
16:46 Kdecherf the same network template worked on another env, 'private' network-group null
16:46 xarses Kdecherf: are there network-id's coded in your template if you created another env, the network-id's are off as they are per cluster
16:47 Liuqing joined #fuel
16:47 Kdecherf xarses: i already updated group_id and network id before uploading the template
16:47 xarses ok
16:50 xarses Kdecherf: ya, so its trying to look up a name, that it can't find in the set

17:40 jackdastripper mwhahaha: the errors are from the mcollective logs on the nodes. I couldn't find any other errors that provide any additonal clues.
17:41 mwhahaha yea so that task copies files from the master to the other nodes
17:41 jackdastripper Does it copy them over the pxe network or the admin (eth1) network?
17:41 mwhahaha https://github.com/openstack/fuel-library/blob/stable/mitaka/deployment/puppet/osnailyfacter/modular/astute/tasks.yaml#L224-L248
17:42 mwhahaha it's an mcollective action
17:42 jackdastripper because the only ip on the nodes at this point in the deployment is the PXE network. 10.20.0.x
17:43 mwhahaha it'd be over the pxe network
17:44 jackdastripper There is no key directory under /var/fuel/ on the nodes.
17:44 mwhahaha yea that's on the master
17:44 mwhahaha in /var/lib/fuel/keys/*/haproxy/*
18:01 elopez_ joined #fuel
18:33 jackdastripper mwhahaha: There is no haproxy directory under /var/lib/fuel/keys/1 on the master node
18:33 jackdastripper just ceph, fernet-keys, mongodb, mysql, neutron and nova directories.
18:34 mwhahaha did you enable ssl?
18:34 mwhahaha generate_haproxy_keys task should have generated the keys, is that in the logs?
18:36 jackdastripper Do you mean the TLS check in settings?
18:36 mwhahaha yea
18:37 jackdastripper That is enabled, but I did leave the DNS hostname for TLS blank
18:37 mwhahaha that's the problem
18:37 mwhahaha you need the hostname
18:38 mwhahaha as it's used to generate the certficates
18:38 jackdastripper so what is that supposed to point to? The hostname of just the master server?
18:38 mwhahaha it's the public hostname for your endpoints
18:38 jackdastripper I thought it was used for the VNC consoles.
18:38 mwhahaha i thought by default it was public.fuel.local or something
18:39 mwhahaha lovely that it doesn't validate that
18:39 jackdastripper it is, I was confused if it is a DNS record to a VIP or only to the master server.
18:40 Sketch it's to the controller VIP
18:40 jackdastripper okay, that makes sense.
18:40 Sketch i thought it was for the fuel server at first, the .fuel. in there threw me off
18:41 jackdastripper It is not very clear what it is used for.
18:41 mwhahaha sounds about right
18:41 Sketch indeed
18:42 jackdastripper hmm, I don't have a lb in this environment yet. I guess I will just point it to one of the controller nodes for now.
18:42 mwhahaha no
18:42 mwhahaha so we create a vip on the controllers with haproxy
18:42 mwhahaha so it'll be an ip that you can use
18:43 jackdastripper oh. gotcha.

20:18 flerfb0rt is anyone familiar with the problem where the bootstrap wont recognize and nodes and you get "maybe run apt-get update or try with --fix-missing" with fuel-bootstrap build --activate?
20:20 mwhahaha so it sounds like your bootstrap image failed to build
20:20 mwhahaha do you have additional logs around what dependency failed?
20:23 flerfb0rt let's see
20:24 flerfb0rt a lot of failed to fetch http://127.0.0.1:8080
20:25 mwhahaha did you setup a local mirror?
20:27 flerfb0rt yeah that shouldnht be a problem
20:28 mwhahaha if you did setup a local mirror, you might want to try rerunning the mirror process to make sure it got all the files
20:28 mwhahaha sounds kinda like a partial mirror
20:37 flerfb0rt the fact that i forgot to reboot the old nodes may have caused this because someone else installed and had 0 issues
20:46 DavidRama joined #fuel
20:50 mwhahaha yea that's a problem if you don't reboot the bootstraped nodes and rebuild the fuel master but that shouldn't cause the messages you mentioned
