12:09 Sketch does fuel configure ceph-mon?  everything was up and running, but ceph -s  started timing out for me
12:10 Sketch i notice there are no ceph-mons running anywhere, and attempting to start them on any machine gives me the error:
12:10 Sketch monitor data directory at '/var/lib/ceph/mon/ceph-admin' does not exist: have you run 'mkfs'?

13:57 Sketch well, reboot did start monitors.  can't see where they are supposed to get started by upstart though...
13:58 cr0wrx @Sketch ceph -s works for me. I have mons on controller
14:00 Sketch yeah, ceph -s works after reboot
14:00 Sketch one of my controllers had a monitor running but the other 2 did not
14:01 Sketch would be nice ot figure out how to restart it without a reboot ;)
14:03 cr0wrx Yea I'm not sure. Mine have been up and I never noticed a need for restart, but maybe I just restarted a while ago after first provisioning and it worked

14:23 Kundan Hello Experts
14:24 Kundan I am trying to install Fuel 7.0
14:24 Kundan I have eth0 as internal IP and eth1 as External/Public IP
14:24 Kundan the PXE should run on eth0
14:24 Kundan While I configure the dns hostname
14:25 Kundan It give me errors
14:25 Kundan "Unable to resolve www.google.com"
14:25 Kundan This IP should be rechable from eth2
14:25 Kundan Is it necessary that the eth should also be able to talk to dns ip ?
14:26 Kundan *eth0
14:27 Kundan The whole things mentioned above is for the First time Fuel Menu - while trying to install from .iso
14:34 Sketch Kundan: why 7.0, which is about 2 months away from EOL, rather than 9.0?
14:35 Kundan I need to install Kilo
14:35 Kundan So I guess I have to use 7.0
14:36 Sketch Kundan: but yes, i believe your pxe network has to be able to reach the internet for the fuel master to be able to resolve the repos, and your public network has to be able to reach the internet for the nodes to be able to reach the repos
14:37 * Sketch never understands why people need to do a new install of old software
14:39 Kundan Thanks
14:39 Kundan Let me see what can be done to get this to work

16:07 Julien-zte Kundan, several ways to resolve the issue: 1. configure the local dns to resolve www.google.com and redirect www.google.com to local ip address, 2. configure the local dns to resolve www.google.com as a local ip address. you need setup the dnsmasq to work

16:54 xarses Sketch: fuel defaults to the ceph monitors running on the controller roles
16:55 Sketch xarses: yep, i finally found that (only) one was running, out of the 3 controllers.  couldn't figure out how to start them, so rebooted the other two controllers and they started again.
16:55 Sketch they don't seem to have init scripts...
16:55 xarses they should be started by sysv init on thrusty
16:55 xarses ya, the units are weird
16:56 javeriak joined #fuel
16:56 xarses I think you can always do /etc/init.d/ceph start all and that should start everything thats supposed to on this host
16:56 Sketch ah, i tried start, but not start all
16:56 xarses otherwise you need to know the unit id's for the services to start them
16:57 xarses i.e. you should be able to service ceph-mon start id=a
16:57 xarses from memory, so it might not be right
16:59 xarses Sketch: you can refer to https://github.com/openstack/puppet-ceph/blob/master/manifests/mon.pp for the guide
16:59 xarses https://github.com/openstack/puppet-ceph/blob/master/manifests/mon.pp#L82-L111 specifically
17:01 Sketch aha

18:26 obcecado hi guys
18:27 obcecado i just installed the ldap plugin for identity service
18:28 obcecado given i have a test environment, and configured the needed settings for ldap authentication (settings->other)
18:28 obcecado resetting the environment and redeploying would be enough to add the plugin functionality?
18:28 obcecado i'm using mos 9.0
18:28 obcecado thank you for your input
18:38 xarses obcecado: that would work
18:39 xarses SKipp_: its a cherry pick from master to stable/8.0, so the stable team needs to approve it being merged
18:41 obcecado is enabling the lbaasv2 panels in dashboard supported on fuel?
18:44 javeriak_ joined #fuel
18:46 xarses afaiu lbaas isn't supported by default in fuel, so it would be up to the plugin to do that
18:46 SKipp_ xarses: Thanks one of my patches depends on that going in.
18:46 xarses to 8.0?
18:46 obcecado thank you once again xarses
18:50 SKipp_ yeah

20:28 jhova However, I can curl the endpoint from the node that has failed provisioning. Also, the repositories have been added to that node and are functioning correctly.
