13:09 Seafire Hello everybody, I've been using the Fuel v9  and the ldap plugin for the last few weeks and I have a test environment set up with 1 controller, 2 compute and 2 storage nodes. It took me some time to get it to work but now it seems stable. This week I wanted to add the ldap on a more "serious" environment with HA (3 controllers, 4 compute, 3 ceph storage nodes). Unfortunately deployment fails.
13:10 Seafire By looking at the ldap plugin metadata I can see that it should work with HA, does anyone know if this is a bug or simply the ldap plugin isn't working with HA?

13:11 mskalski Seafire: do you have puppet.log from node where do you observe failure ?
13:12 Seafire the first error I get is this one: Could not prefetch keystone_user provider 'openstack': Could not authenticate
13:15 mskalski do you use official Fuel 9.0 or community build ?
13:15 Seafire here is the full log: http://paste.ubuntu.com/23070204/
13:15 Seafire community
13:18 mskalski I saw discussion couple days ago abut similar problem, can you check if fix proposed in this bug is a part of your copy of puppet-keystone module https://bugs.launchpad.net/puppet-keystone/+bug/1485508
13:19 mskalski https://review.openstack.org/#/c/299301/9
13:21 Seafire It was me who started the discussion
13:21 Seafire I already tried without success
13:23 Seafire my error only occurs when you deploy with 3 controllers, as I understand this fix is for every kind of deployment
13:29 mskalski Seafire: if its a test environment you may consider to reinstall with official fuel 9.0, if the problem still exist I would submit a bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/fuel/+filebug
13:30 Seafire Ok

13:40 Seafire mskalski: what is the actual difference between the community version and the official version?
13:49 Egyptian[Home] joined #fuel
13:50 mskalski Seafire: bugs existing in community edition, then
13:51 mskalski Seafire: sorry I mean that if you use fist community edition of 9.0 from Apr this can contain bugs which were resolved in fuel 9.0.1 http://lists.openstack.org/pipermail/openstack-dev/2016-April/092987.html
13:53 Seafire mskalsk: ok, but fuel 9.0.1 isn't yet available if I understood correctly
13:55 mskalski Seafire: the version available on https://www.mirantis.com/software/mirantis-openstack/releases/ is a 9.0.1
13:55 Seafire mskalski: ok, thx I got confused since it says 9.0 and not 9.0.1

15:22 dmitryme they are rather small changes to RabbitMQ OCF script

15:56 krypto hello guys in 9.0 GA is "fuel node --delete-from-db" supported ?  In a non GA release executing that will cause new node additon to fail with some /etc/hosts update error.
15:59 krypto if i remember correctly removed node's name will exist in /etc/hosts and because of that fuel state will never show operational for any new node addition.
16:03 mwhahaha if that's still a case it needs a bug
16:03 mwhahaha it should work
16:03 krypto thanks i will give it a try.
16:03 Sketch iirc i had issues with entries remaining in /var/lib/tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg/ after --delete-from-db
16:04 Sketch but i don't think i had problems with /etc/hosts
16:04 * Sketch isn't 100% sure that was under 9.0, it could have been 8.0
16:04 xarses_ joined #fuel
16:05 mwhahaha it could be a problem, but we'd just need to know the exact steps to reproduce the condition in a bug
16:05 mwhahaha it shouldn't error but you never know

16:08 Sketch anyone know how to add persistent static routes to openvswitch bridge interfaces?
16:09 Sketch for some reason, adding them in interfaces.d does not work
16:20 Sketch ah, operator error.  silly ubuntu config files.
17:19 ron___ joined #fuel
17:19 ron___ Folks, I am seeing an issue wherein I am trying to use a custom neutron plugin installed on Fuel but at the end of the deployment I see that my plugin tasks arent getting executed
17:20 ron___ all my tasks are post-deployment
17:20 ron___ which means all tasks in my plugin are carried out at stage: psot-deployment in sequence
17:20 ron___ post-deployment*
17:20 ron___ this is Fuel 9.0
17:21 ron___ On Fuel UI i see that my plugin has been installed and also i enabled the plugin via Fuel UI before starting the deployment
17:22 ron___ but at the end of the deploy process; I see that none of my plugin manifests have gotten executed
17:22 ron___ is hot_pluggable parameter needed to be set as true in this case?
17:22 ron___ is_hotpluggable: false
17:22 ron___ i have it set to false
17:23 ron___ also all of my tasks are under tasks.yaml file
17:23 mskalski ron___: is required if you want to install plugin after fuel env was deployed
17:23 mskalski ron___: tasks.yaml is deprecated
17:24 mskalski ron___: you should use deployment_tasks.yaml
17:24 ron___ so if there are any tasks under tasks.yaml then no tasks get executed?
17:24 ron___ i was able to get it working with tasks.yaml on fuel 8.0
17:25 mskalski ron___: can you show content of your tasks.yaml?
17:25 ron___ has this changed  in fuel 9?
17:26 ron___ i am not able to paste it here in a good fashion
17:26 ron___ can i email you the file?
17:26 mskalski ron___: http://docs.openstack.org/developer/fuel-docs/plugindocs/fuel-plugin-sdk-guide/create-plugin/define-plugin-actions.html
17:27 mwhahaha you can use paste.openstack.org
17:28 ron___ http://paste.openstack.org/show/561444/
17:28 ron___ @mskalski
17:29 ron___ @mwhahaha
17:29 mwhahaha yea so i think that style of tasks was removed for 9
17:30 mwhahaha you'd need to update to use the deployment_tasks.yaml instead
17:30 mskalski ron___: I think you should migrate to deployment_tasks.yaml file, it will not change so much you will find info about new syntax in link above
17:30 ron___ mskalski: as per the link you shared; if i am using post-deployment tasks then using tasks.yaml shud work right?
17:30 ron___ oh, ok
17:31 ron___ so if i move all my tasks to deployment_tasks.yaml and maintain hot_pluggable as false then this shud work?
17:31 mskalski ron___: for example here http://docs.openstack.org/developer/fuel-docs/plugindocs/fuel-plugin-sdk-guide/create-plugin/actions-existing-roles.html
17:32 ron___ thnx mskalski mwhahaha
17:33 ron___ i will try the new method and make a deployment
17:37 mskalski ron___: before you deploy you may check if plugin task are present by: fuel --env 2 env --deployment-tasks --download, I recommend read docs you will find there couple of tricks which make plugin creation easier
17:42 kur1j mwhahaha: yeah, I could have sworn I ran across someone saying it previously worked but now it doesn't. Granted, I also saw this, where someoen reported the same exact thing and the bug expired. https://lists.launchpad.net/yahoo-eng-team/msg32422.html
17:49 mwhahaha kur1j: so I saw a but where it would error, I think it should 'work' but the disk won't get shrunk
17:49 mwhahaha Might depend on your storage config as well
17:51 kur1j well I reported the "bug" https://bugs.launchpad.net/nova/+bug/1614556 and it is very possible but can't find a clear answer on if its supposed to be supported or not
17:53 kur1j in either case, I feel its a bug. It shouldn't throw a "Success" if it fails to resize down if it shouldn't "work" (e.g. just need error stating OS does not support resizing down instance volume disk drives). If it *should work* then I either have something messed up in my configuration or it is indeed a bug.
