08:45 pradiprwt I want to update some code in https://github.com/openstack/fuel-plugin-cinder-kaminario repo, Can any one suggest me the procces
09:12 fatdragon joined #fuel
09:20 aglarendil__ pradiprwt: you need to follow the regular openstack developers process
09:20 aglarendil__ here : http://docs.openstack.org/infra/manual/developers.html

09:20 aglarendil__ after that you need to find plugin core reviewers and ask them for review, so that they can merge it
09:22 code-R_ joined #fuel
09:23 mskalski I see that you are already core for this plugin https://review.openstack.org/#/admin/groups/1590,members
09:24 mskalski it is good idea to add .gitreview file to this repo, like here just replace name of the plugin https://github.com/openstack/fuel-plugin-opendaylight/blob/master/.gitreview
09:25 mskalski it simplifies git-review usage
10:04 pradiprwt Thanks mskalski

12:08 mskalski pchaigno: interface configuration and default gw is stored in network_scheme hash: hiera -h network_scheme  and applied by netconfig manifest, default gw from admin network is changed during deployment
12:08 mskalski on controllers it will be gw from public net
12:08 mskalski on computes it depends on chosen settings
12:12 krypto hello all i have 100 nodes in my environment which are using virtual IP in vrouter namespace for NTP.Do i need to change all slaves from vrouter ip to upstream NTP server ip?
12:20 vvalyavskiy_1_ krypto: hi, I suppose you can just change ntp settings for ntpd service on controller nodes.
12:20 vvalyavskiy_1_ krypto: hi, I suppose you can just change ntp settings for ntpd service on controller nodes only.
12:22 krypto vvalyavskiy_1_ when will someone change nodes to point to external NTP server with out using NTP configured by fuel
12:23 vkramskikh hey python folks, please review fake keystone v3 handlers: https://review.openstack.org/#/c/380215/ I'd really like to have them in Newton
12:28 pchaigno mskalski: thanks for the information! my issue is that my fuel node is not in the same subnet as my OS nodes
12:28 pchaigno and on the controller node an ip route is installed for the whole fuel subnet, instead of just /32
12:29 pchaigno because of this other hosts on the fuel subnet cannot establish a connection with the OS nodes
12:30 pchaigno I currently fix this by manually changing the ip route (from a /18 to a /32) but I was wondering if I could try to "fix" this upstream (in fuel)
12:35 mskalski pchaigno: some customisation in network topology can be done with http://docs.openstack.org/developer/fuel-docs/userdocs/fuel-user-guide/configure-environment/network-templates/network-templates-overview.html
12:35 mskalski pchaigno: I would try investigate this option
12:38 pchaigno okay, I'll look into it

14:50 mskalski pradiprwt: its about this plugin https://review.openstack.org/#/admin/groups/1590,members ?
14:51 pradiprwt mskalski : yes
14:53 mskalski pradiprwt: so you are core reviewer and you can merge your own changes by giving +2 and +1 for workflow, core reviewers are usually plugin authors
14:54 mskalski do you search someone who can help you develop plugin?

14:54 pradiprwt mskalski : Is one +2 and +1 for workflow enough to mearge the code ..?
14:56 mskalski pradiprwt: hmm it looks like you are not added to https://review.openstack.org/#/admin/groups/1589,members, so you can't probably put +1 for workflow
14:57 mskalski pradiprwt: is there bug on launchpad for creating this repo?
14:57 pradiprwt yes
14:57 pradiprwt https://bugs.launchpad.net/fuel/+bug/1627011

14:59 mskalski you should put a comment there that you also needs to be added to above group
14:59 pradiprwt ok
15:02 mskalski pradiprwt: it still important to be in this group but looks like you should be able to put +1 to workflow as a core https://review.openstack.org/#/admin/projects/openstack/fuel-plugin-cinder-kaminario,access
15:03 mskalski pradiprwt: so you should have all privileges to merge changes

16:58 newbism Hi
17:00 newbism I try to deploy FUEL 9. Compute nodes deploy fine, but controller cinder and ironic nodes fail with: fuel_agent.cmd.agent NotEnoughSpaceError: Error while creating lv: vg os has only 26620 m of free space, but at least 32768 m is needed...Makes no sense, pvs says I have enough space http://dpaste.com/1W66NKC ... Its a 400G drive
17:02 newbism This is it? https://bugs.launchpad.net/fuel/+bug/1546049

17:24 aglarendil__ /etc/fuel-bootstrap-cli/fuel_bootstrap_cli.yaml

17:24 aglarendil__ you need to change the default repos list
17:25 aglarendil__ then you should use the fuel-bootstrap command to rebuild the bootstrap image
17:25 aglarendil__ after that you will also need to add the repo above into the environment settings
17:26 aglarendil__ remove the image-based-provisioning image in /var/www/nailgun/targetimages/
17:26 aglarendil__ and run the provisioning again

17:36 GMAzrael is there a backup process for 9.0?
17:36 GMAzrael I know that 8.0 has docker backup, but 9.0 doesnt use containers.
17:37 agordeev newbism: could you upload somewhere full fuel-agent.log file from any of nodes failed with NotEnoughSpaceError? it's usually stored under /var/log/remote/<node-id>/bootstrap/fuel-agent.log
17:37 GMAzrael agordeev: he may be suffering from the swap space problem I was having
17:38 newbism yes standby
17:39 agordeev GMAzrael: hello, do you have a bug ID of the swap space problem?
17:40 newbism agordeev: I don't see a fuel-agent.log ... I see a /var/log/nailgun-agent.log
17:42 agordeev newbism: sorry, forgot to mention, you should look for it on fuel master node
17:42 newbism there they are, ...I see a /var/log  fuel-agent-env-1.log                   fuel-bootstrap-image-build.log         fuel-ironic-bootstrap-image-build.log

18:08 agordeev GMAzrael could you do me a favor and file the bug about swap space?
18:11 agordeev newbism: omg, it's pretty weird. i haven't seen this behaviour before.
18:11 agordeev newbism: Found physical volumes: [{'uuid': 'lgnifm-O37V-Qkmy-3gzd-JNdE-e3wn-civykS', 'devsize': 84032, 'name': '/dev/sda4', 'psize': 77820, 'vg': 'os'},
18:11 newbism I always get the good ones :)
18:12 agordeev means that pv has got size of 84032M, however lv created on top of this pv gets only 77820M of space.
18:13 newbism im no scholar but that seems to fit?
18:13 agordeev the question is: where and why did 6212M of free space silently disappear. I don't think it's related to alignment.
18:15 agordeev newbism: could you share the output of `lsblk -t` from this node?
18:15 newbism on it :)
18:16 newbism agordeev: http://dpaste.com/0BNK9KG
18:17 agordeev aglarendil__: afair, volman won't take io hints into account even they'll be reported by nailgun-agent
18:17 agordeev aglarendil__: so, it's no use to backport the patch for nailgun-agent.
18:20 newbism hmm, woah, getting deep huh
18:20 newbism different drive geometries?

18:22 agordeev newbism: you're the winner. it's the biggest opt io alignment ever known for Fuel. 4G for alignment is so unusual. So, you were right about the root cause.
18:23 agordeev newbism: could it just be wrongly interpreted negative offset alignment, say -512 bytes ?
18:24 agordeev GMAzrael: awesome, thanks
18:24 GMAzrael agordeev: Line numbers and all
18:31 newbism agordeev: hmm alignment... I kinda sorta understand this
18:31 agordeev newbism: for your case i propose to disable aligning for LVM in its config file. You can easlily modify bootstrap image and put customized lvm config into it
18:32 newbism agordeev: where? On fuel master, before deploy?
18:33 failart_ joined #fuel
18:34 agordeev fuel-bootsrap tool allows to inject files into the image by specifying path to  `--extra-dir` . the contents of that dir will be rsynced to root directory of bootstrap image.
18:35 newbism agordeev: is there a doc? :)
18:36 agordeev newbism: yep. on fuel master. before deploy. http://docs.openstack.org/developer/fuel-docs/userdocs/fuel-install-guide/bootstrap/bootstrap_inject_driver.html
18:38 agordeev newbism: basically, you'll need to re-create directory tree structure for lvm config in a manner of <datadir>/etc/lvm/lvm.conf
18:40 newbism agordeev: ok thanks
18:40 agordeev then you'll just start rebuilding of bootstrap image like $ fuel-bootstrap --verbose --debug build --extra-dir <datadir> --activate
18:40 * newbism looks for other disks
18:40 newbism :)
18:40 newbism I might try it, I need to do this anyway
18:41 newbism just wanted to see it go :(
18:41 newbism thanks of course ill be around
18:48 GMAzrael pasquier-s: are you in?
18:53 agordeev newbism: sorry, i don't think we could provide detailed step-by-step howto for disabling lvm alignments right now. it would take few days at least. also i'm done to today. good luck with lvm config :-)
