06:58 charz_ Hi Guys,
06:59 charz_ If I have a fuel openstack env liberty-8.0, and how do I able to upgrade this openstack env to Mitaka-9.0?
06:59 charz_ Is that possible?
07:01 charz_ Just saw the document to upgrade fuel master form MOS 8.0 to 9.0/9.1, but I can't find the docs for upgrading an existing openstack env from 8.0 to 9.0
07:04 raunak joined #fuel
07:06 arhided as far as i know, it`s possible only manually
07:19 zephcom joined #fuel
07:20 charz_ arhided: you mean I need to do something manually like Keystone, glance DB migration, ... etc?
07:24 arhided right, there is no easy way to update openstack, this is why Mirantis get married with Kuber )
07:26 charz_ arhided: thx! I saw a fule-specs (https://specs.openstack.org/openstack/fuel-specs/specs/7.0/upgrade-major-openstack-environment.html) to explain how to upgrade an openstack env form MOS 6.0 to 7.0, but I can't find any further docs in MOS 9.0.
07:29 abalobashina akasatkin_ akislitsky Hi! Please review and merge https://review.openstack.org/#/c/379542/.  It has been verified on a virtual environment.

10:05 aglarendil arhided: your IP addresses range for public network should be different from fuel admin network
10:06 aglarendil @charz_ you would want to look into fuel octane project which actually provides the framework for openstack upgrades.
10:07 charz_ aglarendil: I think the fuel octane is for fuel master upgrade, is that correct?
10:08 charz_ aglarendil: I upgraded Fuel Master from MOS 8.0 to 9.0.
10:08 aglarendil charz_: it does both - you might want to ask @ikharin and @rsokolkov for the details
10:09 aglarendil okay, upgrades work properly with Fuel 9.1 - you can go through master node upgrade procedure and then update your 8.0 environment. currently, there is only a draft of a runbook for liberty->mitaka upgrades
10:10 arhided <aglarendil> : fuel_admin network is 172.28.3.x and public 172.16.0.x
10:10 aglarendil I guess, you have public CIDR set to /16
10:12 charz_ aglarendil: cool, thanks! I'll do some research on it. Lemme upgrade my fuel master to 9.1 first and I can move forward to upgrade my openstack env.
10:12 arhided i change nothing in network tab,
10:12 arhided so it default i guess _
10:13 aglarendil arhided: I suggest that you check your public network CIDR and see if it really intersects with admin network
10:14 aglarendil charz_: I would consult with octane authors prior to doing real things - octane upgrade for OSt is kinda fresh thing, they would tell you about potential pitfalls

10:16 charz_ aglarendil: no worries, I just want to do some tests on my virutalbox env. Because I need to test our fuel-plugin when a cluster upgrade from MOS 8.0 to 9.0.
10:17 charz_ aglarendil: thanks for the helps! :)
10:20 charz_ aglarendil: one more question, does it a new feature in MOS 9.0?
10:26 aglarendil charz_: i am afraid I did not get your question
10:28 charz_ aglarendil: I mean the fuel octane is only work for openstack env (MOS 8.0) to 9.0, or it also support older clusters that deployed by MOS 7.0 or older.
10:28 fatdragon joined #fuel
10:29 aglarendil well, newer octane with fuel 9.1 had a success story of upgrading 7.0 to 9.1 with 9.1 Fuel Master node. but it requires careful planning before you execute it
10:30 charz_ aglarendil: okay, got it. I'll check the docs first before I upgrade.

10:50 arhided i think that it's not related to CIDR
10:50 arhided Address intersection between gateway and IP range of fuelweb_admin network. (Network IDs: '1')
10:50 arhided but related to some sort of gateway / dhcp range overlaping
10:51 arhided where in fuel i can change DHCP pool range?
10:59 arhided /etc/fuel/astute.yaml ?
10:59 arhided change then reboot?

13:44 Seafire Hello everybody, I'm having some issues with the StackLight LMA Toolchain for Monitoring Logging etc. fuel plugin. Basically the Graphana interface shows all my services in a critical state even though when I check them with pcs status or crm status I can clearly see that everything is online. I do get a strange output saying that all three nodes of the PCSD cluster are offline but I've already noticed this in other installations. Does
13:45 Seafire ...how to debug this problem? I also tried to reboot the LMA node and one of the controller nodes but no luck.

18:10 foutatoro Hi all, I would like to change the PXE network after installing the fuel master  but the default dhcp server 10.20.0.0/24 is still running on eth0. Someone knows how to disable that ?
18:17 ddanielr Is the centos7 mos9.0-updates repo required for a fuel install? I'm attempting an install of fuel 9.0 and am running into issues regarding the yum package dependencies
18:18 ddanielr in that repo, It appears that newer packages are present in that repo but do not have all their dependencies met and cause the install to fail.

20:28 ogelbukh quick question: is it possible to install Fuel on a provisioned server using packages only? is there any guide?
22:06 evgenyl @ogelbukh haven't seen any guides for that, it will require to run fuelmenu to generate config, and run puppet apply, to properly configure services.
22:15 xarses joined #fuel
22:48 ogelbukh I actually found a kind of guide by vkozhukalov here >> http://lists.openstack.org/pipermail/openstack-dev/2016-September/103969.html
