08:08 vimal7370 how can i increase timeout during reboot..? the compute node that we are adding in fuel takes around 5-6 minutes to boot up, and looks like the timeout is 180 seconds but I dont know where exactly to make the change.. can someone please help
08:09 vimal7370 due to this delay, compute node provision fails every time when it reboots after network configuration
08:11 vimal7370 Error is: "All nodes are finished. Failed tasks: Task[system_provision/3] Stopping the deployment process!"

10:53 kdebnath Hello Experts
10:54 kdebnath I need to know if thin provisioning is allowed?
10:54 kdebnath How to check that in Mirantis KILO
10:54 kdebnath ?

10:54 kdebnath Also, I need to enable over_subscription in thin provisioning
10:55 kdebnath I have blade servers with enough vcpus and memory. But the when I try to create 3rd VM it fails
10:56 kdebnath I see this exception in - Paste #603105
10:57 kdebnath The Disk Size is 223 GB. And 200 GB is already used as per the VM already created

14:42 Julien-zte joined #fuel
14:43 erolg vimal7370, I look at Fuel-agent.conf.template, there is timeout options for http requests and grub but i can not find option for ssh
14:45 erolg But also i cant find where 180 sec getting from
14:46 erolg fuel-agent uses paramiko as ssh client maybe it has default option

19:49 AlexAvadanii aglarendil: hi! I think this line is wrong since "Move provision tasks out of nailgun and astute": https://github.com/openstack/fuel-library/blob/master/deployment/puppet/osnailyfacter/manifests/provision/build_image.pp#L56
19:53 vimal7370 Hi, can someone plz tell me whether /etc/fuel/graphs/provision/tasks.yaml is taken into account?
19:53 vimal7370 this block:
19:53 vimal7370 - id: node_reboot
19:53 vimal7370 type: reboot
19:53 vimal7370 version: 2.1.0
19:53 vimal7370 role: ['/.*/']
19:53 vimal7370 requires: [cobbler_disable_netboot]
19:53 vimal7370 required_for: [set_status_provisioned]
19:53 vimal7370 parameters:
19:53 vimal7370 timeout: 600
19:54 AlexAvadanii vimal7370: yes
19:54 vimal7370 but from web ui, i have this failing, and i see that timeout is 180 seconds there
19:54 vimal7370 fuel 11
19:54 AlexAvadanii did you alter that file by hand? or clean install?
19:54 vimal7370 yes i did alter
19:54 vimal7370 the file
19:55 AlexAvadanii you should restart some services to take it into account
19:55 AlexAvadanii like nailgun and/or astute
19:55 vimal7370 i did restart the master server itself couple of times
19:55 vimal7370 this timeout is driving me crazy
19:55 vimal7370 :(
19:55 AlexAvadanii maybe you need to run puppet-sync
19:56 vimal7370 from master?
19:56 AlexAvadanii just a sec, let me look something up
19:56 vimal7370 ok sure
19:58 AlexAvadanii fuel rel --sync-deployment-tasks --dir /etc/puppet
19:58 AlexAvadanii vimal7370: ^
19:59 vimal7370 trying..
19:59 vimal7370 ok.. and now try provision from web ui once again?
20:00 AlexAvadanii yeah
20:00 vimal7370 ok.. thanks Alex
20:00 AlexAvadanii np, let me know if it works; but I'm out of ideas :)
20:01 vimal7370 lol this is the 3rd night i am spending on this.. trying to provision a server which takes around 7 minutes to bootup.. and i have literally searched and replaced timeout value everywhere i can found, but it still sticks to 180 seconds
20:01 vimal7370 lets see what happens now
20:01 AlexAvadanii I think the timeout increase was merged upstream recently
20:02 AlexAvadanii so if this doesn't work, reinstalling fuel should work
20:03 vimal7370 this was latest fuel 11 iso from CI, built 4-5 days ago
20:03 vimal7370 node_reboot task is still with timeout 180 seconds in web ui
20:03 vimal7370 starting to hate the number 180 now
20:05 AlexAvadanii the fix was merged 4 days ago on master and 2 days ago on newton, but it's not on ocata branch yet https://review.openstack.org/#/q/Ia7b9aa96407dae5819420146f5e1e934031b662c
20:06 vimal7370 graphs/provision/tasks.yaml simply does not work for me it seems
20:06 vimal7370 failed again.. :-(
20:06 vimal7370 2017-03-17 20:05:36 ERROR [30640] 94f9a0ca-d988-49e4-ac93-1cae00a15e6b: file was not uploaded /tmp/provision.json on node 3 with timeout 180: node has not answered
20:11 AlexAvadanii vimal7370: there are 2 timeouts of 180s in that file, did you edit both?
20:13 vimal7370 there are no 180 s in my conf
20:13 vimal7370 i edited all
20:13 vimal7370 to 600
20:14 vimal7370 yet web ui shows 180
20:17 AlexAvadanii I'm not familiar yet with graph manipulation, let me look at it a bit
20:18 vimal7370 sure, AlexAvadanii
20:18 vimal7370 ty for ur help
20:30 AlexAvadanii vimal7370: would it hard to remove the environment from fuel and recreate it? I can't figure out how to reload or download/edit/reupload these settings
20:30 AlexAvadanii would it be*
20:31 vimal7370 perhaps i will have to consider reinstall again..
20:32 vimal7370 is there any place in code where I can change..?
20:32 AlexAvadanii if the ISO is built from Ocata branch, it won't have the fix; otherwise it should work ... however removing the env and recreating it should be simplet
20:32 vimal7370 am i wrong in using fuel 11?
20:32 AlexAvadanii no, it's just a quirk that will be solved probably on Mon
20:33 goldenfri Glad I'm not the only one having this problem :)
20:33 vimal7370 lol
20:35 vimal7370 AlexAvadanii, u r saying to recreate the environment from web ui, right? Not the reinstall of fuel master..
20:35 AlexAvadanii vimal7370: exactly
20:35 vimal7370 ok
20:37 AlexAvadanii I might have figured out how to work with the graphs too
20:37 AlexAvadanii e.g. `fuel2 graph download -a -t provision -e 1`
20:38 AlexAvadanii edit the yaml, and reupload it using `fuel2 graph upload ...`
20:38 vimal7370 ok.. checking..
20:38 AlexAvadanii but nuking the env/recreating it is the safer way
20:38 AlexAvadanii as I'm no fuel expert, I just experimented iwth the above command
20:39 AlexAvadanii if you try the `fuel2 graph download`, the yaml it downloads should also have the timeouts set to 180 s
20:39 vimal7370 hahah holy shit i see 180 everywhere in there
20:39 AlexAvadanii well, astute creates the graphs when you create the env
20:40 AlexAvadanii so if you edit the global settings afterwards, old envs will stick to what they had
20:40 vimal7370 oh
20:40 vimal7370 makes sense
20:40 AlexAvadanii unless manually edited .. but I'm not sure where they are stored, so usng the CLI is the proper way
20:40 vimal7370 thanks a lot, AlexAvadanii .. u have no idea how much this has helped me
20:40 AlexAvadanii vimal7370: np
20:40 AlexAvadanii it helped me too, getting familiar with fuel2 graph
20:40 vimal7370 especially since this is my 3rd sleepless night for this
