04:33 bulde avati: a2: http://review.gluster.org/4416 : dude, you wanted a test script for this, and issue is, to test the codepath, we would need min of two machines... hence I asked Avra to not bother about the script...
04:40 bharata bulde, we are planning to add a testcase that resides in tests/ to test QEMU-GlusterFS
04:41 bharata bulde, Will the test cases from tests/ get executed for every commit by jenkins ?
04:41 bulde bharata: yes
04:41 bulde there are 3 different type of tests
04:43 bulde check 'build.gluster.org' (1 smoke (mainly for builds etc), 1 regression (the tests/* in build tree + patch), 1 ufounit (mainly the UFO unit tests))
04:44 bharata bulde, ok, our plan is to add a simple test case that creates a volume, copies a VM image onto it and boot from it using QEMU
04:45 bharata bulde, So we would need to copy a working VM image from somewhere, presumably from some directory in jenkins ?
04:50 bulde that can be done I guess
04:50 bulde it would be good to start a thread in gluster-devel
04:50 bulde not sure of configs for build machine
04:55 bharata bulde, ok will do that
04:56 bulde thanks

11:08 xavih I'm trying to use the 'distribute.migrate-data' special xattr of cluster/dht to rebalance selected files from one replicated subvolume to another
11:09 xavih it fails with an EINVAL error because the loc->parent of setxattr fop is NULL when it tries to determine the layout of the directory
11:10 xavih is this xattr supported (in 3.3.1) ?
11:10 xavih is it a bug ?
11:10 xavih I don't understand why the loc->parent is NULL
