07:08 JoeJulian Please mark https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=907695 urgent. I was able to get him up and running by editing vol files, but this is completely broken. It seems to me like this should be easy to fix, too, but I can't tell where.
07:08 glusterbot Bug 907695: unspecified, unspecified, ---, rgowdapp, NEW , rdma does not select the correct port when mounting volume

12:06 jdarcy_ Oh hai.
12:07 johnmark howdy
12:07 johnmark what's up peeps
12:07 johnmark greetings from dublin
12:07 johnmark roll call...
12:07 jdarcy Dublin, current capital of Airportland where every city looks the same.
12:08 johnmark hagarth: ping
12:08 johnmark exactly
12:08 johnmark kkeithley: ping
12:08 jdarcy Oh yeah.  Present.
12:08 johnmark ha
12:08 jdarcy Years of conditioning forced me to do that.
12:09 johnmark :1~
12:09 johnmark stupid connecbot...
12:09 johnmark anyhoo
12:09 johnmark so how are we on the tracking bug?
12:09 jdarcy Looking decent, actually.
12:09 johnmark ok
12:09 jdarcy Three RDMA-related bugs still crawling through review.
12:09 johnmark was hoping hagarth could pipe in and tell me if we were good to go this week
12:10 johnmark ok
12:10 johnmark saw one referenced by jjulian
12:10 jdarcy Plus one that seems to be an instance of the "multiple networks don't work" syndrome.
12:10 johnmark ah, ok
12:10 johnmark so all the patches are in review?
12:10 jdarcy Not quite.
12:10 johnmark ah, ok
12:10 johnmark we can release a beta and say "these issues are still pending"
12:11 johnmark jdarcy: tell me the good, bad and ugly
12:11 jdarcy Two of the RDMA bugs (really kind of dups) are still ASSIGNED, plus the multiple-network one and replica 3 (but all of its known dependencies are now complete).
12:12 johnmark I have a 3.4 blog post abbout ready to go out
12:12 johnmark ok
12:12 johnmark I think it's safe to say that those bugs won't be fixed before release
12:12 johnmark for rDMA
12:12 jdarcy I'd be tempted to say the multiple-network one is WONTFIX for 3.4, the others would benefit from user mileage.
12:12 johnmark we just need to be clear on that
12:12 johnmark ok
12:13 johnmark if the RMDA bugs are assigned and not near review-ready then I have little hope for them
12:13 johnmark except to say that they'll appear in 3.4.1
12:14 johnmark I wonder what's left in replica 3 though
12:14 jdarcy The ASSIGNED ones are really performance issues, and the other is an enhancement.  None are real "stuff totally doesn't work" bugs.
12:14 jdarcy Replica 3 is mostly a matter of testing at this point.
12:14 johnmark oh good
12:15 johnmark then we should be good fora  beta
12:15 jdarcy The known bugs are fixed, but we have essentially no coverage for it in-house.
12:15 johnmark got it, ok
12:15 johnmark I'm thinking that there is no way on god's green earth that this will be ready for release by March 7
12:15 johnmark when we have the community summit
12:16 johnmark so there's a very real possibility that we start talking about 3.5 before 3.4 is even finished
12:16 jdarcy That doesn't seem strange to me.
12:16 johnmark me neither. I was hoping for a clean break between those two things, but whtaever
12:16 johnmark it wont' hurt us
12:17 jdarcy I mean, 3.4 is already far enough along that we basically know what it is, just waiting for it to reach the quality/testing bar.
12:17 johnmark hrm. why isn't anyone from ble here?
12:17 johnmark er blr
12:17 jdarcy Out to dinner?
12:17 johnmark heh. possibly
12:18 jdarcy Rich and the rest are still out there, I believe.
12:18 johnmark anyway. can you issue the beta builds or does hagarth have to officially bless it/
12:18 johnmark also, we need to tag for the 3.4 release
12:18 jdarcy Vijay does.
12:18 johnmark ok
12:18 johnmark we need to change that
12:18 johnmark we need to give you, kaleb, amar vijay and hagarth all the ability to cut releases
12:19 jdarcy I'm guessing you meant Avati in place of either vijay/hagarth.
12:19 johnmark yes - oops
12:19 johnmark seeing as vijay and hagarth are the same person
12:19 jdarcy The Gang of Five.
12:20 johnmark indeed. let me know if you need me to shake the trees to make that happen
12:20 johnmark otherise, I"m going to depend on you and/or kaleb to drive that
12:20 jdarcy I'll do some shaking.
12:20 johnmark woohoo
12:20 johnmark how is everything?
12:21 jdarcy Same old.  Still trying to figure out the Iowa problem.
12:21 johnmark oy. ok
12:21 jdarcy You holding together?
12:22 johnmark I am. I'm raring to go
12:22 johnmark we have major shit to get through this next month
12:22 johnmark including launching the gluster forge
12:22 johnmark we have reps from openshift, openstack, ibm, and maybe jboss coming to the community summit
12:22 johnmark it will be awesome
12:23 jdarcy Does Citrix have a presence there?
12:23 johnmark trying to figure that out - I think so. I want thm to be there, too
12:24 johnmark met a guy from acquia in canberra
12:24 johnmark looks like they want to be included in things, whihc is good
12:25 jdarcy They've always been friendly.  I still keep in touch with David Strauss even though he's at Pantheon now.
12:25 johnmark oh cool
12:25 johnmark anyhoo, I'll prep the 3.4 blog post, and let our PR person know that the beta is coming this week
12:26 jdarcy Awe - wait for it - some.
12:26 johnmark it's going to be a big deal that the most prominent feature for 3.4 will be contributed from outside
12:26 johnmark ok
12:26 johnmark I'll at least put them on "standby"
12:26 jdarcy Time to put out the trash.  Literally.
12:26 johnmark ok :0~
12:27 jdarcy See ya.
12:27 johnmark I'm heading to my departure gate
12:27 johnmark later
12:27 jdarcy And bon voyage.  ;)
12:27 johnmark thanks
12:27 hagarth hey folks
12:27 johnmark oh hey
12:27 johnmark I have 10 mins
12:27 johnmark hagarth: how are you?
12:28 hagarth johnmark: doing great, how are you?
12:28 johnmark I'm good - currently waiting for my connecting flight out of dublin
12:28 johnmark hagarth: I was just telling jdarcy that I think - hope? - we can release a beta this week
12:29 hagarth johnmark: alpha or beta?
12:29 johnmark hagarth: either
12:29 johnmark as long as we're clear about the status of some bugs
12:29 hagarth i am good with doing an alpha tomorrow
12:29 johnmark including what will realistically be fixed and not fixed in the final release
12:29 hagarth i would still like to see rdma and client op-version included in the beta
12:29 johnmark hagarth: Awesome - thanks
12:29 johnmark hagarth: that's fair. any idea what the status of those is?
12:30 hagarth johnmark: kshlm mentioned that op-version is very close to completion, rdma is in a good stage too
12:30 johnmark oh good
12:30 johnmark as I mentioned to jdarcy, if we have our community summit before 3.4 is released, that will be ok
12:31 johnmark so don't think you guys have to forego sleep or something just to put something out by March 7
12:31 hagarth johnmark: right
12:32 hagarth i have been wanting to run some tests on 3.4 before it is released
12:32 johnmark anyhoo, I need to get some detail on existing bugs for the 3.4 blog post
12:32 johnmark ok
12:32 hagarth maybe i'll play around with the alpha candidate
12:32 johnmark let me know how I can help with that
12:32 kkeithley1 joined #gluster-dev
12:32 johnmark if we want specific testing around replica 3, rdma or otherwise, I can call that out in the blog post
12:33 hagarth johnmark: that would be good to cover in our blog post
12:33 johnmark I should have that finished today
12:33 johnmark ok
12:33 johnmark hagarth: when do you think would be reasonable to tag the 3.4 branch?
12:33 hagarth johnmark: tomorrow
12:33 hagarth when we do the alpha
12:33 hagarth how does that sound?
12:34 johnmark that sounds awesome
12:34 johnmark seriously
12:34 hagarth cool, let's give it a spin then
12:34 johnmark sweet. ok, gotta get to my departure gate
12:34 johnmark will talk to you guys later
12:35 hagarth ok, safe travels!
