11:04 ndevos a2: backporting such an ioctl to rhel requires a real use-case, rhs forces to use xfs, so I doubt the use-case is there...
11:11 hagarth joined #gluster-dev
11:12 bulde ndevos: actually, on RHS, we will continue to support only XFS i guess, so this ioctl (for ext4) doesn't come into picture
11:13 bulde this is very much needed for other community users, who wants to use ext3/4 instead of xfs
11:15 bulde but in glusterfs code, we should have ioctl() code to do this (i guess can ignore the cases where this call fails because this is not supported with a INFO log)
11:15 ndevos bulde: yeah, I understand, but the community use-case is hard to make important enough to get a backport in rhel

20:08 semiosis anyone awake?  Ryan_Lane is in #gluster now reporting that with 300 volumes in his pool the gluster cli is unusably slow
20:09 Ryan_Lane joined #gluster-dev
20:10 semiosis Ryan_Lane: welcome.  i think since this issue is not related to gluster internal development we should keep the conversation in #gluster
20:10 Ryan_Lane ok
20:10 semiosis but i did ask in here in case any of the devs are aware of known issues with hundreds of volumes
