17:05 Evolution morning folks. we have a fair number of users who were using the glusterfs-epel repo (http://download.gluster.org/pub/gluster/glusterfs/3.4/3.4.1/EPEL.repo/glusterfs-epel.repo)
17:06 Evolution since the 6.5 update, they're having failures based on qemu-kvm requirements.
17:06 Evolution is there a particular way that we(as centos) can help? will the glusterfs repo be updated?
17:20 ndevos Evolution: I have not heard of any issues with it... is there a bug report?
17:21 ndevos kkeithley, hagarth, a2_: could you have a look at http://titanpad.com/glusterfs-maintainers and add some entries in case I have missed something?
17:23 Evolution ndevos: http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=6820
17:23 kkeithley_ 6.5 has the RHS client-side RPMs. You can use the community RPMs instead. You can add an exclude=glusterfs* to the repo file in /etc/yum.repos.d/{redhat,centos}.repo file to avoid conflicts.
17:24 kkeithley_ ndevos: will look when I get back from coffee
17:25 Evolution kkeithley_: is that documented?
17:25 hagarth ndevos: looks good to me
17:25 Evolution I can updated/close the bug with that info if it's documented someplace.
17:40 semiosis ndevos: added a section for Ubuntu Packaging for myself, also fixed a typo in my name s/Luois/Louis/ in the Debian packaging section
18:52 ndevos semiosis, hagarth: thanks!
18:54 ndevos Evolution: maybe https://access.redhat.com/site/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/6/html-single/6.5_Release_Notes/index.html#sect-kvm or https://access.redhat.com/site/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/6/html-single/6.5_Release_Notes/index.html#bh-storage ?
18:55 ndevos and https://access.redhat.com/site/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/6/html-single/6.5_Technical_Notes/index.html#glusterfs
18:57 ndevos Evolution: note that those are only the client side bits, the -server package is only available for the RHS product

23:08 Evolution ndevos: no, you guys have the -server package in the community repo, which is where the question lies.
23:08 Evolution ndevos: http://download.gluster.org/pub/gluster/glusterfs/LATEST/EPEL.repo/epel-6Server/x86_64/glusterfs-server-3.4.1-3.el6.x86_64.rpm
23:08 Evolution for example.
23:18 kkeithley_ These are community RPMs, and include the client-side and server-side. Versus the RHS client-side only in RHEL.
23:20 kkeithley_ Not sure what you expect here. RHEL (and CentOS) ships the RHS client-side for oVirt and vdsm. If you're going to use community bits, disable the RHS bits in your /etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Base.repo file.
23:31 johnmark I'm also trying to make sure we get stuff into the actual centos repos, so that we're more tightly integrated there
23:37 kkeithley_ As long as RHS bits are in Centos-Base and community bits are in, e.g., CentOS-Extras, or the gluster community repo, users are going to have do disable one or more of them in their repo files. (And this is an example of why gluster was removed from EPEL proper.)
23:38 kkeithley_ Just sayin'
23:38 kkeithley_ s/have do disable/have to disable/
