04:16 kshlm @later tell hagarth You should merge http://review.gluster.org/7302 for relase-3.5 too. The related patch on master was merged, but this one still remains.
04:16 glusterbot kshlm: The operation succeeded.

06:14 lalatenduM jclift, I saw the same issue you mentioned about " glusterfs-server-3git-1.el6.x86_64.rpm"
06:23 ndarshan joined #gluster-dev
06:37 kshlm lalatenduM, any solution to that?
06:39 lalatenduM kshlm, looking in to it
06:40 kshlm lalatenduM, most likely this 326b77695f15 rpm: Include the hook scripts of add-brick, volume start, stop and set.
06:41 kshlm I'm building a package after reverting that. Lets see if it works.
06:41 lalatenduM kshlm, cool :)

06:57 kshlm lalatenduM, that's it
07:01 lalatenduM kshlm, yeah, the issue is the directories are getting created at /root/var/lib/glusterd/hooks/ , it should be at /var/lib/glusterd/hooks/
07:02 lalatenduM kshlm, it should not be using (the patch) {buildroot}%{_sharedstatedir}/glusterd/hooks/1/start/post
07:04 ndevos lalatenduM, kshlm: actually, those files should get installed by rule in a Makefile.am, that helps packaging for other distributions
07:04 lalatenduM ndevos, yup agree

07:07 lalatenduM kshlm, once I put a patch , I need your help to test it :)

07:21 lalatenduM kshlm, ndevos the root cause I was telling is not correct
07:22 ndevos lalatenduM: I did not look at it at all, just noticed your messages about the "directories are getting created at /root/var/lib/glusterd/hooks/"

12:31 jclift kshlm: That deprecation message patch is merged now.  Looks like hagarth got your message. :)
12:34 kkeithley_ glusterfs-3.4.3 RPMs for EPEL (RHEL, CentOS, etc.) are available in YUM repos at http://download.gluster.org/pub/gluster/glusterfs/3.4/3.4.3/.  Fedora RPMs are in Fedora updates-testing repos. Other distros coming soon

14:45 ndevos kkeithley_: when you build the rpms for download.gluster.org, do you use the .spec from the tarball, or from the fedora dist-git?
14:46 kkeithley_ fedora dist-git
14:47 kkeithley_ the rpms are built in koji. That uses the dist-git .spec
14:47 ndevos you can send a src.rpm to koji too, for scratch building
14:47 kkeithley_ and hence the perpetual job of keeping the two specs in sync
14:47 kkeithley_ yes, I know
14:48 kkeithley_ fedpkg {,scratch-}build doesn't. You can do koji build -scratch with a src.rpm
14:48 ndevos but, I think there is something out-of-sync, glusterfs-server 3.4.3 seems to not require a versioned glusterfs-libs
14:48 sahina joined #gluster-dev
14:49 ndevos hmm, maybe "fedpkg scratch-build --srpm /path/to/src.rpm" ? but thats without checking
14:49 kkeithley_ It's the same spec from 3.4.0, including all the qa and beta releases.  But it's not hard to fix it and respin 3.4.3-2
14:49 kkeithley_ maybe
14:50 ndevos a user just reported this issue, and its fixed in the glusterfs.spec.in already, maybe a 3.4.3-2 would be good
14:50 ndevos see #gluster ;)
14:51 kkeithley_ TBH, I haven't spent a lot of time looking at fedpkg and koji options. We've got a new dev in BLR who is slotted to take over building the RPMs
14:51 ndevos ah, cool
14:51 kkeithley_ yeah, JoeJulian. I saw it
14:51 ndevos oh, yes, I see, sigh
14:52 ndevos the issue is that glusterfs-regression-tests isnt up to the Fedora standard for packages, that sub-package should not be included in the fedora repos
14:52 ndevos I dont think it has the for_fedora_koji if/else constructs, maybe we should add them?
14:53 ndevos or, give that task to the new package maintainer ;)
14:53 kkeithley_ there's no regression-tests rpm in 3.4.x
14:53 kkeithley_ including 3.4.3
14:54 kkeithley_ they're only in 3.5.
14:55 ndevos oh, that makes things easier then
14:56 kkeithley_ the fedora dist-big spec has    Requires:         %{name}-libs = %{version}-%{release}
14:56 kkeithley_ for %package server
14:57 kkeithley_ rpm -q --requires -p glusterfs-server-3.4.3-1.el6.x86_64.rpm
14:57 kkeithley_ ...
14:57 kkeithley_ glusterfs-libs = 3.4.3-1.el6
15:00 JoeJulian ok... now I'm just confused.
15:00 kkeithley_ er, fedora dist-git spec
15:01 JoeJulian Had the same thing on a client. glusterfs-libs-3.4.2 so the volume wouldn't mount but rpm -q --requires glusterfs-fuse lists glusterfs-3.4.3-1 and rpm -q --requires glusterfs-3.4.3-1 lists glusterfs-libs-3.4.3-1...
15:01 JoeJulian so how the f...
15:20 ndevos JoeJulian: not any mixed 32/64 bit packages?
15:21 * ndevos wonders if there should be a .{_isa} to the version requres
15:22 JoeJulian ndevos, kkeithley_: The glusterfs package "Provides:         %{name}-libs = %{version}-%{release}"
15:24 kkeithley_ hmmm...   Thought we removed that. Maybe only in 3.5.  /me goes to look

19:25 lalatenduM kkeithley, ping
19:35 JoeJulian Could a server add itself to this->priv->peers so it succeeds in finding iself in glusterd_friend_find_by_hostname without having to do the getaddrinfo/getnameinfo dance for itself and failing, resulting in glusterd_friend_find_by_hostname failing? Or does it not matter that it fails?
19:40 lalatenduM JoeJulian, what about adding an entry /etc/hosts about this host, I think it overcome the getaddrinfo/getnameinfo issue
19:48 JoeJulian lalatenduM: That's what I suggested, but it's easy to break this without knowing why, for instance in /etc/hosts assigning the hostname to 127.0.0.1 after localhost.
19:59 lalatenduM JoeJulian, agree , I also dont like getaddrinfo/getnameinfo stuff
20:09 lalatenduM jclift, ping
20:10 * lalatenduM has a habit for naked pings Grr..
20:11 lalatenduM jclift, I am not part of nay group, so I think can't be in http://fedorapeople.org/

20:13 lalatenduM kkeithley, it turns out it would be good if we give libvirt1.2.3 (the latest) for storage SIG as it has got few bug fixes and also has snapshot support for gluster
20:13 lalatenduM kkeithley, I have built libvirt1.2.3 for CentOS6.5, need your help for signing it
