10:31 JustinClift There's no use in retaining wiki.gluster.com is there?
10:31 JustinClift It's still online, but seems ancient
10:31 JustinClift hagarth: ^ ?
10:31 hagarth any worthwhile pages in there?
10:32 JustinClift Haven't really looked
10:32 JustinClift I need a login first.
10:32 JustinClift I'll take a quick look now
10:32 hagarth if there's nothing, I suggest we nuke it
10:32 JustinClift np

10:40 JustinClift hagarth: It's setup for LDAP authenticaion with a server called indiavoip.gluster.com, which seems to be assigned to a static broadband connection in India -> airtelbroadband.in.
10:41 JustinClift I think we can do a final backup of the mysql database it has, and it's filesystem contents, and then just nuke it.

13:03 * JustinClift just restarted httpd on review.apache.org
13:03 JustinClift Hmmmm, it doesn't seem happy
13:03 JustinClift Might need to adjust something

13:08 JustinClift hagarth: Are you able to access review.gluster.org, build.gluster.org, or engg.gluster.org?
13:09 hagarth JustinClift: checking
13:10 JustinClift review.gluster.org and build.gluster.org have both gone offline from my PoV
13:10 hagarth same here
13:11 JustinClift Last thing I did was restart httpd on review.gluster.org
13:11 JustinClift It passed a configtest though
13:11 JustinClift But that shouldn't have taken out the whole box
13:11 JustinClift :/
13:14 shyam joined #gluster-dev
13:22 JustinClift kkeithley_: Can you get into engg or review.gluster.org or build.gluster.org?
13:25 kkeithley_ one sec, I'll try
13:26 kkeithley_ nope
13:26 JustinClift Gah
13:26 JustinClift Ok, anyone have suggestions?
13:28 hagarth engg.gluster.org is pingable but my passwordless ssh is not working :-/
13:29 JustinClift I used to be able to ssh into engg from review.gluster.org (someone left root keys in place)
13:29 JustinClift I never bothered copying the keys though :/
13:30 kkeithley_ what's engg?
13:30 dlambrig_ joined #gluster-dev
13:30 JustinClift I _think_ its the box that hosts review.gluster.org, build.gluster.org, and whatever shell.gluster.org is
13:30 JustinClift At least, it provides NFS to them
13:30 kkeithley_ oh
13:31 JustinClift misc: Do you have remote access to engg.gluster.org?
13:31 JustinClift misc: The review.gluster.org and build.gluster.org servers are offline
13:32 JustinClift kkeithley_: You have access to engg don't you?  I remember seeing your public key in its authorized_keys for root
13:32 kkeithley_ really?
13:32 JustinClift Yep
13:32 JustinClift Well, 70% sure :)
13:33 JustinClift See if you can get in remotely, etc
13:33 kkeithley_ hmm. who knew.
13:33 kkeithley_ yes, I'm signed into engg.gluster.org
13:33 JustinClift Awesome
13:33 kkeithley_ bwahaha
13:33 JustinClift Now, I just wish I had a clue with Xen ;)
13:33 misc xm
13:34 * hagarth hails kkeithley_ the omnipotent
13:34 misc xm start, iirc
13:34 misc and xm list to get the name
13:34 misc ( and no, I do not have access to the box )
13:35 JustinClift misc: We should probably add your public key to the engg box too then :)
13:35 kkeithley_ no such beast
13:35 kkeithley_ no `xm` that is
13:35 hagarth kkeithley_: hmm, are you on the sudo list there?
13:35 kkeithley_ I seem to be,
13:35 JustinClift kkeithley_: Can you add misc's public key to the box?
13:35 kkeithley_ sure
13:36 * JustinClift was going to say "it's on review.gluster.org"... but oh..
13:36 JustinClift misc: Where's a good spot to grab your public key from, that's not an existing gluster.org server? :)
13:36 shubhendu joined #gluster-dev

13:39 JustinClift misc: ^
13:39 kkeithley_ There's an account for misc already
13:39 JustinClift misc: Cool.  Try getting in and seeing if you can get review.gluster.org + build.gluster.org online again?
13:39 kkeithley_ with .ssh/authorized_keys
13:41 kkeithley_ two keys in .ssh/authorized_keys: misc@liliana and misc@kiora if that helps
13:41 misc yeah, they are mine
13:41 kkeithley_ syup
13:41 misc engg.gluster.org is supercolony ?
13:41 kkeithley_ yes
13:42 misc I think this was not the server I used yesterday
13:42 misc this one do not have xen tools
13:42 kkeithley_ misc is in /etc/sudoers
13:42 misc yeah, so there is a different server not in dns
13:42 JustinClift Supercolony is in Racksapce
13:42 JustinClift Rackspace
13:43 JustinClift engg is not that server
13:43 JustinClift Hah
13:43 JustinClift Gah
13:43 misc 184.107.76.9 is engg
13:43 JustinClift engg.gluster.com
13:43 JustinClift Dammit old domain names
13:44 JustinClift kkeithley_: See if you can get into engg.gluster.com :)

13:44 glusterbot JustinClift: <'s karma is now -1
13:45 JustinClift Weird
13:45 JustinClift For me it resolves to 184.107.76.9
13:45 misc JustinClift: check /etc/hosts ?
13:45 misc so we have to contact iweb
13:46 JustinClift Sounds like it
13:46 JustinClift I went looking through their contact form the other day
13:46 JustinClift From memory, the first thing it asks for is the contract/account #
13:46 JustinClift So, we'll need someone who knows that
13:48 kkeithley_ nothing responding to that IP address. (nothing in my /etc/hosts)
13:49 misc JustinClift: get sampath
13:49 misc but he left the building it seems :/
13:50 JustinClift Well
13:50 JustinClift Avati then?
13:51 JustinClift We might have a spot of trouble releasing 3.6.0 beta1 tomorrow if say... our main gerrit and jenkins hosts are offline
13:52 JustinClift In the meantime, I'll try standing up a review.cloud.gluster.org VM in Rackspace, and see how far I get with the restore
13:52 * JustinClift copied the main data a few hours ago
13:52 JustinClift But, not the https certs, nor apache config
13:53 jdarcy joined #gluster-dev
13:53 jdarcy Is anybody else unable to reach git.gluster.org?
13:53 kkeithley_ I thought we stopped using *.gluster.com for anything
13:54 kkeithley_ {git,build,review}.gluster.org are all down
13:55 jdarcy Was this expected, or did it go down on its own?
13:55 JustinClift jdarcy: Yeah, it's a known problem
13:55 JustinClift jdarcy: Went down on its own
13:55 kkeithley_ we know about it _now_
13:55 jdarcy Ugh.  Anything I can do to help, other than shut up?
13:55 JustinClift jdarcy: Hopefully it's something simple like a routing issue in iWeb
13:55 JustinClift But, we don't know
13:56 JustinClift This seemed to happen about 2 weeks ago as well, and just magically started working again after a few hours
13:58 wushudoin| joined #gluster-dev
14:02 kkeithley_ What about Eco, does he know the iWeb acct number?
14:02 shyam joined #gluster-dev
14:04 kkeithley_ I guess I'm having a brain fart. I used to run tests/basic/*.t and tests/basic/bug*.t with `sudo prove $t`. I thought.  Now they error out with NO plan found in TAP output
14:08 dlambrig_ for me, engg.gluster.org resolves to 198.61.169.132 (engg.gluster.com does not resolve). review.gluster.org is 184.107.76.10. nmap to that domain shows no ports open. Guess it needs rebooting
14:09 kkeithley_ engg.gluster.com just came back
14:10 kkeithley_ at least I can ping it from {engg,supercolony}.gluster.org
14:10 kkeithley_ I still can't resolve its address from my work desktop computer
14:12 JustinClift k, I've just been in contact with iWeb Tech support
14:12 JustinClift They've submitted an urgent support ticket
14:12 dlambrig_ engg.gluster.com 184.107.76.9
14:12 JustinClift They guy took a quick squizz, and it seems we have a hardware firewall as part of the setup
14:13 JustinClift He guess it's probably crashed
14:13 JustinClift Anyway, theyll probably be investigating in the next few minutes
14:14 jdarcy Yay.
14:14 jdarcy BTW, when this happened a year or two ago, it seemed like only Avati (and maybe Vijay) had the iWeb info.
14:15 jdarcy I guess we should start working on that migration plan to Rackspace or internal infra.
14:15 JustinClift The named people on the account are "kumar.sampah" or similar name, and ab I think
14:16 JustinClift He was going to email to that address, and I quickly setup an alias for gluster.org
14:16 JustinClift But... I haven't got an email, so I guess I spelled it wrong
14:16 jdarcy Do we have a catch-all for *@gluster.org
14:16 JustinClift jdarcy: Yeah, this is why I've been working on getting backups working recently
14:17 JustinClift jdarcy: Dunno
14:17 dlambrig_ we should at least be able to do a remote reboot on any server
14:18 kkeithley_ if a hardware firewall goes down and nobody can get to it....
14:19 jdarcy If a tree falls, and it's behind a firewall...
14:19 kkeithley_ yeah, I was trying to work that in
14:20 jdarcy Looks like our firewall turned into a brick.
14:20 kkeithley_ it'd be nice if our IT would ever answer the question about whether we have room in the DMZ for our beefy server and it's big RAID array
14:20 itisravi joined #gluster-dev
14:23 kkeithley_ Maybe I should just ship the server to Phoenix and then immediately escalate to executive management when it's not set up immediately. Since going through the formal process doesn't work.
14:24 kkeithley_ oops, can't ping engg.gluster.com any more
14:27 JustinClift I've emailed AB and Sampath Kumar, to let them know if get an email to please forward it to me, etc. :)
14:28 JustinClift Hmmm, someone just called then hung up
14:31 JustinClift review.gluster.org just started responding to pings
14:33 JustinClift k, we seem to be back in business
14:34 JustinClift Logged onto build.gluster.org, and its uptime is still 102 days
14:34 JustinClift So, looks like it was the hardware firewall
14:36 JustinClift kkeithley_: Have you figured out the No Plan tap problem?
14:37 JustinClift Missing dependency?
14:39 soumya joined #gluster-dev
14:54 dlambrig_ I notice we can do a zone transfer on gluster.org (host -l gluster.org ns2.redhat.com) .. this is normally disabled
14:58 ndevos dlambrig_: you can only do that on the internal ns2.redhat.com server, not when you access ns2.redhat.com from outside the rh-vpn
14:59 dlambrig_ ok, cool
15:03 kkeithley_ JustinClift: no, haven't figured out my No Plan Tap
15:04 aviksil joined #gluster-dev
15:04 kkeithley_ dunno about the missing dependency, it use to work. I don't think I've removed anything
15:06 JustinClift Which OS you running on?
15:07 JustinClift F20?
15:07 JustinClift kkeithley_: What happens if you do run-tests.sh ?
15:08 JustinClift kkeithley_: That has some dependency checking at the start of it.  Might catch some of the obvious stuff. ;)
15:10 kkeithley_ runs the tests, they all fail. This is in-tree, fresh check-out
15:11 kkeithley_ fresh check-out of master
15:15 * kkeithley_ hasn't typically used run-tests.sh because it runs _everything_, including rpm.t, which takes a long time and always fails when run in-tree
15:36 kkeithley_ `sudo prove $t` still works in a release-3.4 tree.
15:38 kkeithley_ looks like review.g.o came back for a bit. I see a couple new fixes, but I can't post a review.
15:38 jobewan joined #gluster-dev
15:39 JustinClift kkeithley_: It's supposed to be all working atm
15:39 * JustinClift tries it out
15:39 JustinClift kkeithley_: Try running the tests as a full root user (su -) instead of directly from sudo
15:40 kkeithley_ one sec
15:40 JustinClift kkeithley_: It's possible someone's adjusted something in the include.rc or something maybe, and borked the lost
15:40 JustinClift lot
15:40 kkeithley_ p'raps. It's definitely a regression
15:43 kkeithley_ [root@f20node1 ~]# prove bug-846240.t
15:43 kkeithley_ Cannot detect source of 'bug-846240.t'! at /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl/TAP/Parser/IteratorFactory.pm line 263.
15:45 kkeithley_ no, that was borked. running as root instead of sudo still fails (in master branch)
15:48 kkeithley_ now instead of just hanging I get a Server Unavailable when I try to post comments on a patch
15:49 kkeithley_ okay, now it took my review
15:54 kkeithley_ hmm. Building rpms from release-3.6 results in RPMs named   -3.7dev-0.196.git68e062e.fc20.x86_64.rpm

19:39 ndevos kkeithley_: do you happen to know why there is a v3.6.0alpha1 tag in git? should all the bugs with merged patches move to ON_QA and mention that version?
19:40 ndevos I did not see a 3.6.0apha1 announcement to any of the lists, and there are no packages on download.gluster.org with that version either
19:40 ndevos at least, not from the quick look I just had
19:46 JustinClift ndevos: That tag's been around for a while hasn't it?
19:46 JustinClift At least a few weeks?
19:47 JustinClift Yeah, I kind of think we skipped over the "alpha", since we've been waiting on outstanding fixes for dht
19:47 JustinClift So, the upcoming beta may turn out to be more like an alpha
19:47 JustinClift ... or might turns out to be awesomely stable, and so on. ;)
19:50 JustinClift 'night all
19:50 kkeithley_ no, I don't know anything about it
19:53 kkeithley_ And 3.6 seems like too big of a thing to not have an alpha first. A real alpha. Although beta1, beta2, .../beta27 probably make that moot
