06:46 JoeJulian Man... there is something in the connection code that's got to be broken. I wish they would give me time to document more bugs. Every time I replace-brick the clients try forever to connect to the old brick, spamming the logs to eternity with their attempts to reconnect.
06:47 JoeJulian I'll try to find some time to duplicate it at home, but man it's annoying.

14:44 kkeithley lalatenduM, ndevos: should we stop stop providing "EPEL" glusterfs RPMs on download.gluster.org and just point everyone to the CentOS Storage SIG repo? What's the philosophy, is the Storage SIG nominally just for CentOS users or can RealRHEL® users use it too?
14:45 ndevos kkeithley: I dont know, but I guess that RHEL users would prefer our community repository and would not like to use a centos one
14:47 lalatenduM kkeithley, I think it is early to say this
14:47 lalatenduM ndevos, I think you are right
14:47 kkeithley early because the real CentOS SIG repos don't exist yet, or ???
14:47 _Bryan_ joined #gluster-dev
14:47 kkeithley One benefit to using the SIG repos is that they'll be mirrored.
14:48 * kkeithley wonders how many people look at what's in the repo file
14:48 kkeithley If we provide a repo file, in a gluster-release RPM or otherwise, that happens to point at the SIG mirrors, would anyone care?
14:49 lalatenduM kkeithley, agree with you, I usually dont look in to the repo file
14:52 ndevos kkeithley: hah, lol, that could work :D
14:53 ndevos kkeithley: but, we should be careful with what packages will get into the CentOS SIG, we do not want to replace unneeded packages, but maybe the SIG wants to provide some?
14:54 * ndevos thinks about libvirt and other things
14:54 ndevos oh, but we can probably use a 'include' directive in the .repo file to only include glusterfs* packages
14:55 kkeithley AFAIK lala is planning to put ganesha and samba into the SIG repo.
14:55 ndevos ah, "includepkgs" is the option
14:55 lalatenduM kkeithley, already done that
14:55 kkeithley and we don't ship libvirt, but there was talk of CentOS providing it
14:56 kkeithley in a different SIG repo
14:56 lalatenduM yeah SIG might build it or borrow it from other SIG e.g virt SIG
14:56 ndevos yes, and an updated qemu, for whatever other storage support gets added to the SIG
14:56 lalatenduM I mean qemu and libvirt
14:56 lalatenduM As virt sig is also need of gluster packages
14:57 ndevos so, I am OK with pointing to the CentOS SIG in the .repo file, but only if we use includepkgs=glusterfs*
15:00 kkeithley If that means what I think it means, i.e. only get gluster, not samba or ganesha, then I'd be happy with that.  kbsingh says in #centos-devel that the SIG repo will be ready to go live by 5 November
15:01 ndevos and include "priority=50" or something, with a comment above it that points to the wiki page or blog post that descibes the issue and solution
15:01 ndevos *describes even
15:01 ndevos can (or do we want to) wait until november?
15:02 kkeithley we can do our own thing for three weeks, then switch over to the SIG repo. Does that seem reasonable?
15:02 ndevos ideally this should get in place before the next 3.4, 3.5 or 3.6 update
15:02 ndevos yeah, that works for me
15:03 lalatenduM kkeithley, agree
15:03 lalatenduM kkeithley, ndevos now the SIG will release testing repos, after soem time we will move to stable repo
15:04 ndevos lalatenduM: okay, just like fedora?
15:04 lalatenduM ndevos, yeah , but it is not automated as of now, but will be in future
15:04 kkeithley cbs is just koji
15:05 ndevos but no bodhi yet?
15:05 kkeithley dunno
15:06 ndevos I guess that may follow later, depending on the adoption of the SIGs
15:07 lalatenduM yeah there are some discussions around bodhi like system
15:15 * ndevos leaves for the day, cya!
15:16 lalatenduM ndevos, byye
15:16 * lalatenduM is leaving too , bye
15:16 ndevos bye lalatenduM
