09:41 post-factum itisravi: on http://review.gluster.org/#/c/14126/
09:41 post-factum itisravi: i see there are issue with removing bricks
09:42 itisravi post-factum: yup..It needs to be reworked.
09:42 post-factum itisravi: probably, you should allow removing only arbiter first, and only then removing the replica
09:42 post-factum itisravi: is that what you said?
09:42 itisravi post-factum: right, that was what I mentioned in the review comments..
09:42 itisravi post-factum: yeah
09:42 post-factum itisravi: aha, now I've got the point. ok, thx
09:43 itisravi post-factum: cool.
09:43 post-factum itisravi: nevertheless, i'd like to have it cherry-picked for 3.7, even unofficially :)
09:43 itisravi post-factum: If you are in charge of your cluster, I guess it should be safe to take it in.
09:44 itisravi I mean no one upgrading just one node to a newer version and so on.
09:44 post-factum itisravi: for sure, i'm the only person who understads how that cluster works. also, i'm in charge of it to have the same version on all nodes
09:44 post-factum itisravi: so, no problems with that
09:44 itisravi awesome.
09:44 post-factum *understands
09:45 mchangir joined #gluster-dev
09:45 post-factum itisravi: just curious, what about arbiter count >1?
09:46 itisravi post-factum: you mean the validation? The add-brick command would fail.
09:46 post-factum itisravi: nope, I mean if it is planned to be supported
09:47 itisravi post-factum: no not really. but curious why would you want it to be more than 1?
09:48 post-factum itisravi: HA with quorum. let's say you have 5 nodes, 3 of those are full replica and 2 arbiters. in this case, i believe 2 of 3 replicas could fail without bringing the cluster down
09:48 atinm joined #gluster-dev
09:49 post-factum OTOH, replica 5, even with 2 arbiters, would be very slow :(
09:51 itisravi post-factum: true but instead of using too many replicas I guess it would be better to invest in having a robust network without much disconnects.
09:51 itisravi yeah it would be slow because all entry fops have to be wound to all 5 bricks.
09:51 itisravi entry + metadata/
09:52 post-factum true
09:52 post-factum ok, thx

11:15 ndevos Manikandan, vmallika: could the NetBSD issue have started to happen after this change? http://review.gluster.org/14064
11:15 ndevos that was merged like 7 days ago...
11:17 Manikandan ndevos, we observed that happened atleast 4 days ago
11:18 Manikandan ndevos, looking on the patch
11:18 ndevos Manikandan: can you checkout some of the the git commits where the tests failed, and see if that patch is included in the tree?
11:19 ndevos Manikandan: the patch looks solid to me, but maybe threading on netbsd is a little different...
11:19 ndevos misc: you have the POWER :D , but https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1330225 might have broken something :-/
11:19 glusterbot Bug 1330225: unspecified, unspecified, ---, mscherer, ASSIGNED , gluster is not using pthread_equal to compare thread
11:19 Manikandan ndevos, the tests fails inconsistently
11:19 Manikandan ndevos, we will check and update on this
11:19 ndevos Manikandan: sounds like a race condition, and could be related to threading :)
11:19 Manikandan ndevos, most probably
11:24 misc ndevos: mhh, that would be strange
11:24 misc ndevos: but I can take a look after eating

12:32 kkeithley version 3.9de?  Fedora has seen a GlusterFS 3.9de somewhere?  There's no glusterfs-3.9de.tar.gz on bits.gluster.org, which is the canonical source (for Fedora RPMs)   Was there a glitch? One that was already cleaned up?
12:33 luizcpg joined #gluster-dev
12:36 kkeithley ndevos: ^^^ ?

12:37 kkeithley bits.gluster.org is Source: in the Fedora glusterfs.spec, but I see that Fedora is looking at the github repo.

12:40 kkeithley Maybe it's just picking up on the new v3.9dev tag?
12:42 Manikandan joined #gluster-dev
12:48 ndevos kkeithley: I guess it picks the v3.9dev tag from github?
12:48 ndevos kkeithley: and, maybe it drops all the 'v' from it
12:51 ndevos kkeithley: via https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/package/rpms/glusterfs/ -> [Anitya] -> https://release-monitoring.org/project/8873
12:51 ndevos kkeithley: I guess you can see if you can 'flag' or 'report' the issue there
12:51 kkeithley yes, that's what I'm looking at.  Or I can edit the config myself.  /me is trying to figure out a good regex.
12:52 ndevos oh, I've not clicked through it more that that

13:24 kkeithley maybe it's time to drop the rot-13 encryption xlator?
13:28 ndevos kkeithley: yeah, sharding does not really do clustering things, it sits on top of dht/afr/..

15:16 PotatoGim_ joined #gluster-dev
15:16 hagarth1 kkeithley: template is dummy and does nothing.. rot-13 is very easy to follow in terms of code. I have used rot-13 to explain the xlator model and that usually helps in understanding our fops/xlator model very well.
