04:58 nigelb This is weird: https://build.gluster.org/job/smoke/33609/console
04:58 nigelb I have a build failure that happens only on Centos 7.
04:58 nigelb I can't reproduce it on F25.
04:59 nigelb Or Centos 6.

05:05 nigelb That was an amazing error. It was because readline wasn't installed.
05:06 nigelb And there was an #ifdef that lead to an error.

10:05 pranithk1 xavih: hey, I will resend the patch addressing your comments. I would like to do one more pass of some testing because I don't have much time now to thoroughly test it as I have to catch a train. Just tell me if the code structure looks fine or not... okay?
10:05 xavih pranithk1: I think it's ok
10:13 pranithk1 xavih: I didn't understand the question about metadata versions properly. I added a comment explaining guessing that is what you could be asking. But I could be wrong. Let me know

11:04 nigelb Do we now have centos sig packages this time around?

11:06 anoopcs nigelb, For 3.10?
11:07 nigelb yeah.
11:07 nigelb I wanted to run glusto on the 3.10 RC1 packages from the SIG.
11:07 anoopcs I saw this reply from ndevos --> http://lists.gluster.org/pipermail/packaging/2017-February/000256.html
11:09 ppai joined #gluster-dev
11:09 nigelb anoopcs: oh yeah, I tried those already.
11:09 nigelb No 3.10 in there.
11:09 anoopcs :-)
11:10 ashiq joined #gluster-dev
11:10 anoopcs I mean to say that you may have to download directly from build system.
11:10 nigelb damn. I was really hoping for a repo to get it from.
11:10 nigelb Otherwise, I'll have to improvise.
11:11 anoopcs Hm.
11:18 gyadav joined #gluster-dev
11:19 ndevos nigelb: packages are in the CBS, but not on the buildlog mirror yet
11:20 ndevos nigelb: I was expecting to see the RPMs in the testing repo, but something seems to be missing, I plan to check with bstinson when he is online later today
11:20 nigelb ndevos: Is there a repo in CBS or should I wait until it comes into buildlog mirror?
11:20 nigelb I'll keep everything ready to run the tests until then.
11:21 ndevos nigelb: the CBS has an internal repo, but it should not really be used outside of the cbs - http://cbs.centos.org/repos/storage7-gluster-310-candidate/x86_64/os/
11:27 nigelb I'll wait.

15:39 kkeithley shyam: did I just bork the release-3.10 branch by merging a change to .../extras/ganesha/scripts/ganesha-ha.sh
15:40 shyam Hmmm... I think not, we anyway need the fix for the packaging on OpenSuSE, right? the gfapi fix?
15:40 shyam kkeithley: ^^^ I was contemplating accepting the ganesha script changes that were posted till now, as a part of that, if you ack'd them :)
15:47 shyam ndevos: There? The CentOS packages have not yet landed on   https://buildlogs.centos.org/centos/7/storage/x86_64/ (and 6), any updates?
15:55 nigelb kkeithley: Do I need to have two IPs to use NFS-Ganesha?
16:04 ShwethaHP joined #gluster-dev
16:17 ndevos shyam: I'll remind the centos guys again, maybe there is something blocking it or so
16:18 ndevos nigelb: one IP for nfs-ganesha is sufficient, but with that you can not achieve active-active HA
16:24 shyam ndevos: Followup question Niels, early next week could be the release, so for CentOS packages, we let kkeithley handle the same, as you maybe unavailable?
16:25 ndevos shyam: kkeithley is travelling next week as well
16:25 ndevos (though different conferences)
16:27 ndevos shyam, nigelb: packages should have been on buildlogs.centos.org by now, something in their infra has been blocking it (maybe the amount of packages for the openstack release?)
16:27 shyam ndevos: kkeithley: so for next week, if we create a release, will you folks be able to package it?
16:28 ndevos shyam: there will be little changes, so updating the rc1 packages will be simple
16:29 shyam ndevos: Cool, thanks. I will send an out of band reminder as well once the release tar ball is available
16:29 ndevos shyam: as long as I find some internet connection, I should be able to do it for the storage sig
16:29 nigelb ndevos: I just wanted to try NFS-Ganesha in place of gNFS and confirm all is well.
16:29 shyam ok...
16:31 ndevos shyam: btw, the bugs that are fixed with 3.10 should be ON_QA with "fixed in version: glusterfs-3.10.0rc1", the release-tools script can easily be modified to do that
16:31 kkeithley nigelb: you need two IP per node if you're doing an HA setup
16:31 ndevos shyam: with that status update in the bugs, you can point to the emai lwith requests for testers
16:31 kkeithley I don't anticipate any problems getting packages done. If we tag on Friday, that'd be better, but if it doesn't happen until Monday that'll be fine too
16:32 shyam ndevos: will do, but why are bugs a prerequisite for testing, or was that unintentional?
16:33 ndevos nigelb: for simple testing, a single nfs-ganesha server is ok, that is what upstream nfs-ganesha runs in the CentOS CI - https://github.com/nfs-ganesha/ci-tests/tree/centos-ci
16:33 ndevos shyam: it just helps spreading the word, users that reported a bug might be interested in doing some tests
16:34 shyam ndevos: ok
16:37 nigelb ndevos / kkeithley - I'm just going to try to get NFS-Ganesha working instead of gNFS for one test run.
16:37 nigelb To confirm all is well.
16:37 msvbhat joined #gluster-dev
16:39 ndevos nigelb: in that case, you can just install nfs-ganesha, create a export file for ganesha and run the tests
16:39 ndevos nigelb: that is basically what the cthon04 test for upstream nfs-ganesha does
16:40 riyas joined #gluster-dev
16:41 shyam ndevos: I guess nigelb wants to run this through Glusto instead of repeating already run tests, so possibly questions are arising from there, nigelb?
16:41 nigelb yep.
16:41 Humble joined #gluster-dev
16:43 ndevos nigelb: well, I thought someone wrote a Gluster provisioner for NFS-Ganesha already, but if that comes from RHGS-QE, then it'll probably have the HA part included
16:43 ndevos s/Gluster/Glusto/
16:44 ndevos and for HA, you need multiple IPs
16:45 nigelb There's gdeploy.
16:45 nigelb And I think it caters to the HA usecase.
16:46 nigelb Glusto doesn't actually setup NFS-Ganesha.
16:46 ndevos yes, I think gdeploy only does the NFS-Ganesha + HA
16:48 ndevos nigelb: the commands to setup a single nfs-ganesha server are in https://github.com/nfs-ganesha/ci-tests/blob/centos-ci/common-scripts/basic-gluster.sh
16:53 nigelb cheers, thanks.

20:25 kkeithley shyam: wrt the Debian build fixes, I suggest we hold off until 3.10.1.
20:25 shyam cool
20:25 shyam got it, kkeithley I think I will have the release tar ball for you late tonight, so that you can close on the packaging tomorrow and have a trouble free FAST :)
20:26 kkeithley sure.  (fwiw, I'm going to Connect-a-thon, not FAST.)
20:26 shyam Ah ok :)
20:27 kkeithley But I'll pop over to FAST for the Linux File System mini-conf they're having
20:27 shyam kkeithley: will you be testing 3.10.0 at Cthon?
20:27 shyam Just curious
20:28 kkeithley Yeah, I'll use all the lastest bits. That's what I usually do.
20:28 kkeithley Sometime soon I'll also update the longevity cluster with 3.10. I've been wanting to get ganesha on that too.
20:29 shyam kkeithley: neat!
20:29 kkeithley the mini-conference and Amye's organizing a BOF
20:31 kkeithley a Gluster BOF. And I hope Ganesha too.
20:31 shyam Nice that should be fun!
20:33 kkeithley heh. For some definition of fun.  ndevos and I plan to play squash. He will mop the court with me. That'll be fun too.
