09:01 nh2 hi, is this use of `errno` correct? https://github.com/nh2/glusterfs/blob/59e742c395451b60887c9ea5b39eeb534f803088/xlators/mgmt/glusterd/src/glusterd-geo-rep.c#L5228
09:01 nh2 it seems to me that errno is checked here even though there's no function preceding the check that's supposed to set errno
09:03 nh2 and I believe that's one reason why I get the extremely useless error message "Unable to end. Error : Success"

09:42 pranithk1 xavih: hey I wanted to talk to you about https://review.gluster.org/#/c/16998/1/xlators/cluster/ec/src/ec-inode-read.c@1579, let me know when you have time...
09:46 xavih pranithk1: I'm quite busy today. If it's fast, we can talk now
09:47 pranithk1 xavih: 5 minutes?
09:47 xavih pranithk1: tell me
09:47 pranithk1 xavih: As per the man page: for SEEK_DATA "Adjust the file offset to the next location in the file greater than or equal to offset containing data.  If offset points to data, then the file offset is set to offset"
09:47 pranithk1 Similarly for SEEK_HOLE also it will be location of next hole which is at least the offset that is given as input I think.
09:48 pranithk1 xavih: so cbk->offset is at least fop->user_size
09:48 pranithk1 xavih: so I am still confused by when that code-block will be true
09:48 pranithk1 xavih: I mean when the condition will be true...
09:49 xavih pranithk1: the offset returned by bricks is an offset to the brick's fragment
09:49 xavih pranithk1: to get an offset to the real file, we must multiply it by ec->fragments (done in line 1578)
09:50 pranithk1 xavih: ah! it is when the same block is a completely filled by DATA
09:50 xavih pranithk1: this offset is truncated to multiples of the stripe size
09:50 pranithk1 xavih: so it will return the starting offset itself
09:50 xavih pranithk1: yes
09:50 pranithk1 xavih: so we have to re-adjust it
09:50 pranithk1 xavih: got it now
09:50 pranithk1 xavih: sorry :-(, I didn't understand it until now
09:50 xavih pranithk1: the computed offset can be smaller than the offset supplied by the user
09:50 xavih pranithk1: so we need to update it
09:50 pranithk1 xavih: yeah yeah, got it now :-)
09:51 xavih pranithk1: :)
09:51 pranithk1 xavih: merged
09:51 pranithk1 xavih: You want this to be ported to 3.10 or something? I can do that
09:51 xavih pranithk1: I think it should be backported to 3.8, 3.10 and 3.11
09:52 pranithk1 xavih: cool, will do
09:52 xavih pranithk1: I can do that this afternoon
09:52 pranithk1 xavih: okay, if you are busy again, let me know I can do it
09:52 pranithk1 xavih: But I don't think it should have lot of conflicts
09:53 xavih pranithk1: no problem. I'll have some time this afternoon to do it :)
09:53 pranithk1 xavih: cool. Is there a possibility to get the test that lead to crash?
09:53 xavih pranithk1: I don't remember right now, but I'll check
09:54 xavih pranithk1: however you have already merged the patch... do I post another patch if I can write a test script ?
09:56 pranithk1 xavih: yeah that would be great!
09:59 rafi anoopcs++
09:59 glusterbot rafi: anoopcs's karma is now 47
10:00 xavih pranithk1: the backtrace shown in the bug report has this as the answer of a seek: op_ret=-1, op_errno=-371255444
10:01 pranithk1 xavih: oh
10:01 xavih pranithk1: the op_ret=-1 is the cause of the segmentation fault, however the op_errno seems very weird
10:01 xavih pranithk1: maybe there's another issue with seek in some place
10:01 pranithk1 xavih: yeah :-)
10:01 pranithk1 xavih: yeah
10:02 xavih pranithk1: haven't investigated outside ec yet...
10:02 xavih pranithk1: I'll try to take a look this afternoon also
10:04 pranithk1 xavih: cool.
10:05 sona pranithk1, hey
10:07 pranithk1 sona: yes
10:07 sona pranithk1, as you know i am doing ref leak stuff. So the ref and unref fucntions have ref variable , whose name is different in some of the functions
10:08 sona pranithk1, at some places it is ref and at others it is refcount, can we make it a common name for all?
10:08 pranithk1 sona: yeah, rafi told me about. Send a patch on glusterfs explaining the reason. Should be fine
10:09 sona pranithk1, okie

18:39 shyam ndevos: Is there a way to get 3.10.0 packages from the CentOS SIG? Current install picks up 3.10.1 by default (which is correct anyway)
18:41 ndevos shyam: you should be able to do "yum install glusterfs-3.10.0" and get the other version
18:41 ndevos shyam: or, once you have installed 3.10.1, you can run "yum downgrade glusterfs*"
18:41 shyam Hmmm... ok
18:41 shyam Checking that
18:42 ndevos you may need to specify python2-gluster to downgrade too
18:42 shyam ok, is there a specific repo that I need enabled to downgrade?
18:43 ndevos no, old packages are still in the standard 3.10 repo
18:43 shyam No hang on ... it is progressing.
18:45 * ndevos keeps on hanging
18:45 ndevos and I've reported https://github.com/gluster/glusterfs/issues/203 to keep track of it
18:46 ndevos (not the specific 3.10.x install)
18:46 shyam ndevos: ok all well, downgraded succesfully, thanks
