06:58 obnox pkalever: ping
06:59 obnox pkalever: i have installed gluster-block from the copr, but if i run commands, other than the top level help, it segfaults
06:59 obnox that might be a valid error message .... do i need to configure anything special?
06:59 pkalever obnox: Pong
07:00 pkalever obnox: which version you got ? and what is your fedora version ?
07:02 obnox f25
07:02 obnox just added copr and installed.
07:02 obnox pkalever: version 0.2.1
07:02 obnox gluster-block-0.2.1-1.x86_64
07:02 pkalever obnox: that seems to be the right one
07:03 pkalever obnox: can you give a bt ?
07:04 obnox pkalever: wait, i need to install debuginfo etc on that machine. will try.
07:04 obnox mainly wanted to know whether there's s/th obvious i'm missing
07:05 pkalever obnox: if you have gluster-blockd up and running it should hint your about errors
07:06 pkalever obnox: but if that is not happening, then it should be a bug then
07:06 obnox pkalever: in a log file?
07:06 pkalever obnox: log file aswell as part of command output, you should get some hints
07:07 obnox pkalever: AH!
07:07 obnox pkalever: gluster-blockd was not running
07:07 pkalever obnox: I have to break for lunch, will be back in an hour.
07:07 obnox i had started it but did not pay attention
07:07 obnox it logs:
07:07 obnox Failed to start gluster-blockd.service: Unit iscsid.service not found.
07:07 obnox ...
07:08 pkalever obnox: dnf -y install iscsi-initiator-utils
07:08 obnox pkalever: thanks! i guess an rpm dependency would be nice
07:08 obnox happy lunch now ... :-)
07:09 susant joined #gluster-dev
07:09 pkalever obnox: yeah, thanks for catching it. Even an github issue is more appreciable
07:11 obnox hmm, now it fails because tcmu-runner service is not starting
07:11 pkalever|lunch obnox: can you just type "#tcmu-runner -d " and paste me the output
07:21 obnox pkalever|lunch: ah and the segfault i also know
07:21 obnox pkalever|lunch: where is the sources for the gluster-block RPM (spec file)?
07:22 obnox pkalever|lunch: output of tcmu-runner -d:
07:22 obnox handler path: /usr/lib64/tcmu-runner
07:22 obnox 2 runner handlers found
07:22 obnox couldn't resolve ops, is target_core_user.ko loaded?
07:22 obnox tcmulib_initialize failed
07:23 obnox that module is not available in the official fedora cloud base image :-/
07:26 obnox ok. it seems "kernel-modules" is not installed by default :-\

10:12 pkalever obnox: installing iscsi tools is fine, I'm just thinking why should someone ever want to install new kernel for this module when you are on f25?
10:14 obnox pkalever: the vagrant box had too old a kernel installed. so doing "dnf install kernel-modules" pulled in modules and kernel with newer version
10:14 pkalever obnox: oh! got it :-)
10:15 obnox pkalever: where is the git repo for the spec file?
10:16 pkalever obnox: are you by any chance looking for thishttps://github.com/gluster/gluster-block/blob/master/gluster-block.spec.in ?

10:54 obnox oops
10:54 obnox pkalever: the segfault was, btw due to log directory not having been created... :-)
11:01 obnox pkalever: ha, gluster-blockd creates it.
11:01 obnox but when the daemon fails to start, then the client tool will just segfault
11:02 obnox pkalever: how to file a PR for gluster-block? after all, github was wrong... so how to do gerrit with gluster-block?
11:03 obnox or i'll just do github pr and you can convert it to gerrit again ;-)
11:05 anoopcs obnox, I think we have gluster-block on review.gluster.org

11:10 nigelb kkeithley: you about?
11:11 nigelb kkeithley: why does this happen -> W [MSGID: 101095] [xlator.c:213:xlator_dynload] 0-xlator: /usr/lib64/glusterfs/3.12dev/xlator/nfs/server.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
11:12 nigelb kkeithley: This is from glusterd log on a machiine running glusto tests.
11:13 nigelb skoduri: ^ do you have any idea?

11:18 kkeithley nigelb:
11:19 kkeithley is this 3.11? I suspect so. Unless the glustefs-gnfs rpm is installed that'll happen
11:21 nigelb kkeithley: It's master.
11:21 nigelb ah, that splits out into it's own package?
11:22 kkeithley yup, 3.11 and master
11:22 kkeithley pretty sure it was in the release notes. Nobody ever reads those. ;-)
11:23 nigelb I can't find it there.
11:23 kkeithley oops
11:23 kkeithley :-}
11:24 kkeithley interesting. I wrote stuff. I wonder what happened to it
11:25 nigelb kkeithley: so, this is what's been tripping up glusto tests for 3 months
11:25 * nigelb facepalms
11:25 nigelb I finally got everything setup to have gluster logs at the end of every run
11:25 nigelb and dug into it.
11:25 kkeithley logs ftw
11:26 nigelb at least now it's easier to figure out what went wrong :)
11:26 pkalever obnox: interesting, you can send the PR to gerrit here https://review.gluster.org/#/q/project:gluster-block
11:27 kkeithley nigelb: you also need to explicitly enable nfs on a volume if you're testing nfs features. If not, don't enable
11:27 pkalever obnox: good luck! :-)
