08:01 nbalacha misc, ping
08:01 nbalacha misc, something wrong with the centos regression slaves?
08:03 misc nbalacha: likely, or you wouldn't ping me, but you are the first, can you tell me more ?
08:03 Venkata joined #gluster-dev
08:03 nbalacha misc, https://build.gluster.org/job/centos6-regression/6678/
08:03 nbalacha misc, 07:58:30 ERROR: Issue with creating launcher for agent slave20.cloud.gluster.org. The agent is being disconnected
08:05 misc nbalacha: the builder is up, didn't reboot recently
08:05 misc mhh OOM message :/
08:05 misc [root@slave20 ~]# ps fax |grep glust |wc -l
08:05 misc 296
08:06 misc nbalacha: ok, I am removing it from the pool and gonna investigate after shower
08:06 nbalacha misc, thanks
08:06 nbalacha misc, can I try triggering it again now?
08:07 misc nbalacha: yep
08:08 misc nbalacha: can you also open a bug report, so I can dump somewhere my result about why it happen, so we fix the test suite and/or prevent it in the future ?
08:09 nbalacha misc, will do
08:09 misc as I also suspect that's not gonna be the only one who did that, maybe some race condition (or maybe some patch that did broke our test suite, we should find what happened)
08:13 nbalacha misc - I wonder if it is my patch :)
08:13 nbalacha misc, https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1498390
08:13 glusterbot Bug 1498390: unspecified, unspecified, ---, bugs, NEW , Centos regressions fail on slave20
08:14 misc nbalacha: I doubt, the problem started 14h ago (at least)
08:15 misc mhh, gerrit always trigger the build on the same builder :/
08:18 misc nbalacha: and I see nothing in your patch that would trigger that, looking at the running process, they seems to be running normally, no busy loop or anything
08:19 nbalacha misc, thanks
08:19 nbalacha misc, slave27 also has the same problem
08:19 nbalacha the regression I just triggered failed again
08:26 misc nbalacha: ok, rebooting s27
08:27 Saravanakmr joined #gluster-dev
08:30 misc nbalacha: all others are ok
08:30 nbalacha misc,  thanks
08:31 misc but some are suspicious
08:31 misc like, slave24, no job scheduled, but still some gluster process running
08:32 nbalacha misc, failed on slave27 again
08:35 misc nbalacha: ok, taking it out the time to investigate, let me recheck

13:37 kkeithley wreaking havoc how? It hasn't been merged AFAICT
13:39 misc well, all the builder where it got tested have broke
13:39 misc slave20, slave27 and 25
13:39 kkeithley ah,
13:39 misc I did reboot 2 of them, slave20 is running some 200 gluster process, taking all the ram
13:40 misc I looked at the code, there is no obvious 'wreck_builder_to_annoy_misc() fnction :)
13:40 kkeithley oh, you said "on the builders"   I thought it was "on the developers"

13:53 ckousik hello
13:53 misc but the patch do seems correct, and the tests it add also do look ok :/
13:56 ckousik I would like to work on Bug 1397397. Can someone assign it to me? I'm not able to assign to myself
13:56 glusterbot Bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com:443/show_bug.cgi?id=1397397 unspecified, unspecified, ---, bugs, NEW , glusterfs_ctx_new() initializes the lock, other functions do not need to

15:15 kkeithley can the coding guidelines get rid of parens required for 'sizeof variable' ?
15:16 atinmu joined #gluster-dev
15:18 ndevos kkeithley: I actually prefer those
15:19 kkeithley parens around 'sizeof (type)' are fine
15:19 kkeithley IMO
15:19 kkeithley and required by the language
15:19 kkeithley sizeof  is an operator like +, -, etc.
15:20 kkeithley it's not a library function
15:21 kkeithley you've heard this from me before
15:21 ndevos if it is required for 'type', then I would like to have them for 'variable' too, just to please my eyes
15:25 vbellur joined #gluster-dev
15:26 kkeithley well, you can't do   'x +(type)' and you woudn't do 'x +(variable)' so why do you want to do 'x + sizeof(variable)' when 'x + sizeof variable' is legal C ?
15:27 kkeithley pleasing your eyes not withstanding ?
15:28 vbellur joined #gluster-dev
15:29 vbellur joined #gluster-dev
15:31 kkeithley Maybe I can get the C committee to add ß as an alternative to the sizeof operator
15:32 ndevos you'll need a ascii char, utf8 seems to ENOTSUPP in my chat
15:33 ndevos misc: ssl error on https://www.opensourceinfra.org/ ?
15:33 kkeithley ISO8859-1
15:33 ndevos "The certificate is only valid for opensourceinfra.org"
15:33 kkeithley 7 bits is so 1989
15:33 ndevos 7 bits are not enough?
15:34 ndevos misc: https://osci.io/ has a link to the www. version...
15:34 misc ndevos: indeed
15:35 misc ndevos: I am gonna fix the link, then the cert :p
15:35 kkeithley 5 bit baudot should be enough for anyone IMO
15:36 ndevos you found a magic switch to speed up the internet!
15:39 v12aml left #gluster-dev
15:39 ndevos kkeithley: btw, you wrote "sizeof(variable)", does that mean you prefer to drop the annoying space before ( ?

15:50 ckousik kkeithley: I think the issue was already solved. I grepped the code and found that any function that calls glusterfs_ctx_new () assigns it to a variable called ctx. I then grepped for "LOCK_INIT (&ctx->lock)" and did not find any place where the calling function initialized the lock (other than the definition of glusterfs_ctx_new).
