08:41 nigelb Folks, Jenkins is in quiet mode pending the migration to a shiny new Centos system.
08:41 nigelb If your jobs are not happening, that's why. It will not start any new jobs.

12:11 ndevos kkeithley: care to review https://github.com/CentOS-Storage-SIG/centos-release-storage-common/pull/1 ?
12:21 kkeithley is there a reason you didn't use %{_sysconfdir} instead of /etc in the .spec?
12:28 ndevos I think it is just a copy/paste from other centos-release-* packages..
12:29 ndevos yeah, https://github.com/CentOS-Storage-SIG/centos-release-gluster312/blob/master/centos-release-gluster312.spec#L28 does the same, and that came initially from KB

13:13 misc after doing package for longer that I am willing to admin, i am still unsure of the benefits from using "%_sysconfdir"
13:13 misc besides making sure people are confused by "how do I know what macros to use" and the associate cognitive burden
13:20 kkeithley misc: I dunno, because _sysconfdir could be something other than /etc on some obscure rpm using system?
13:20 misc kkeithley: yeah, like solaris :)
13:21 misc I suspect it did make sense 20 years ago, but maybe it doesn't anymore
13:21 kkeithley did Solaris switch to rpm packages at some point?
13:21 misc no, but rpm was working on solaris
13:21 misc (or hp-ux)
13:23 kkeithley I'm sure it can be built, and probably even works on Solaris.
13:23 kkeithley You could have a complete package namespace independent of the solaris packages.
13:23 kkeithley But why?
13:24 kkeithley and I'm pretty sure Solaris has /etc. At least it did the last time I used it, circa 2002.
13:25 kkeithley ndevos, sac`: yeah, the whole N-V-R that gdeploy uses is very strange, for Fedora and RHEL conventions anyway
13:25 ndevos so, when we provide centos (and the storage sig repos) for solaris, we would have a stronger reason to use %{_sysconfdir} instead of /etc? but %{_sysconfdir} would probably still point to /etc ....
13:25 kkeithley and having the %dist in the src.tarball is unusual too.
13:26 ndevos kkeithley: yes, I spoke with sac` about that a while back, and he agreed to use the more natural versioning without -xy postfix
13:26 kkeithley gdeploy-2.0.2-18.rhgs.tar.gz and gdeploy-2.0.2-14.fc26.tar.gz
13:27 ndevos surely the tarball should not include the %dist either...
13:28 ndevos the releases on github do not have the %dist in their name? https://github.com/gluster/gdeploy/releases
13:28 * ndevos really goes for lunch now, he's getting HUNGRY
13:28 kkeithley No, but if you unpack a src.rpm the tarball in it has %dist, and the %prep or %build expects the srcdir to have %dist
13:29 * ndevos o_O
13:29 kkeithley it'd be very strange for a SLES build to build in .../BUILD/gdeploy-2.0.2-14-fc26
13:29 kkeithley wouldn't you say?
13:30 kkeithley anyway, after untangling that, %py_build gives /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.CYiYiu: line 32: fg: no job control
13:30 kkeithley :-(

15:05 ndevos hmm, no maintainers meeting today? ... people have entered their attendence in the hackmd.io page?
15:06 ndevos or, maybe I'm in a wrong call? "please wait for a participant to join the meeting"
15:07 * ndevos tried to dial in 2x now, no difference
15:07 ndevos nigelb, misc? ^
15:08 ndevos its also confusing that people are in a meeting (maybe?) but not on irc
15:10 ndevos ah, my calendar entry was not updated with the DST change it was an hour ago] -- date -d "14:00 UTC"
15:12 bwerthma1n joined #gluster-dev
15:17 nigelb ndevos: indeed. we finished a while ago.
15:17 vbellur joined #gluster-dev
15:17 nigelb That's weird. My calendar auto-updated.
15:17 nigelb we were on IRC during the meeting :)
15:20 ndevos nigelb: yes, you and michael were, none of the others :-/
15:21 nigelb amar was on a car.
15:21 nigelb so admittedly, he wasn't even in the notes.
15:21 nigelb But realistically, I wouldn't be looking at IRC during a meeting.
16:08 vbellur auto abandoning seems to have generated a gerrit notification storm that is breaking my mail filters :)
16:09 vbellur nigelb: review@gerrit-stage.rht.gluster.org - is this the right gerrit sender?
16:09 nigelb vbellur: that's the staging machine.
16:10 nigelb I put that in there to test the 90-day auto-abandon.
16:10 nigelb Looks like I forgot to stop postfix to prevent this exact scenario.
16:10 pranithk1 joined #gluster-dev
16:11 nigelb If you're getting alerts about old patches being abandon. that's coming from a test we did on stage yesterday.
16:11 vbellur nigelb: ok, time for a new custom filter, np!
16:11 nigelb Going to get postfix to blackhole them, but in the meanwhile, please free to filter them to trash.
16:25 misc ndevos: sorry, didn't see you pinged me :/
16:25 ndevos misc: no worries, I disconnected a while ago :)
