07:35 purpleidea samppah: ah! i am actually not doing logrotation at the moment... because i am a bad user and don't take good enough care of my logs!
07:37 purpleidea samppah: if there's anything else you need help with, let me know, but i've gotta go afk in about five min or so
07:39 samppah purpleidea: thanks! and no worries, i need to leave soonish too.. just googling and looking things up :)

09:12 elyograg I have eight servers in my cluster.  only two of them have bricks for this volume.  rebalance is reading weirdly.  http://fpaste.org/81610/37513431/  There are eight entries that say 'localhost' and then one additional entry that lists different servers on different runs.
09:12 glusterbot Title: #81610 Fedora Project Pastebin (at fpaste.org)
09:12 elyograg 3.4.2.
09:13 elyograg I noticed this in my testbed too.

12:55 doekia anyone here has successfully implemented glusterfs to service php content?
13:08 FarbrorLeon joined #gluster
13:09 samppah doekia: some people are using caching like APC and some are using NFS..
13:09 samppah also uWSGI has support for glusterfs api that may help with performance
13:10 doekia for whatever unknown reason I haven't succeeded using NFS to mount the volume
13:10 samppah hmmh?
13:10 doekia complains about version and the like
13:10 samppah what os you are using and what version of gluserfs?
13:10 samppah and what's the mount command?
13:11 doekia my app is stock and APC does really few with fcgid + php-cgi
13:11 doekia standalone system achieve 400ms per page under load (ab concurency 10), while using the gluster volume it is 6s concurency 1
13:12 doekia when I ask bot:
13:12 doekia ~php | doekia
13:12 glusterbot doekia: (#1) php calls the stat() system call for every include. This triggers a self-heal check which makes most php software slow as they include hundreds of small files. See http://joejulian.name/blog/optimizing-web-performance-with-glusterfs/ for details., or (#2) It could also be worth mounting fuse with glusterfs --attribute-timeout=HIGH --entry-timeout=HIGH
13:12 glusterbot --negative-timeout=HIGH --fopen-keep-cache
13:12 samppah some recent OS use NFS version 4 and UDP to mount NFS shares so you might need to specify -o vers=3,proto=tcp when mounting gluster volume via NFS
13:12 doekia it spits things that does not make sense to me
13:13 doekia ;-) I have googled a lot and this options does absolutly nothing for me
13:13 jporterfield joined #gluster
13:13 samppah true, there isn't much information available about those options
13:14 doekia mount -t nfs -o vers=3,proto=tcp localhost:/www /mnt
13:14 doekia mount.nfs: requested NFS version or transport protocol is not supported
13:14 glusterbot doekia: make sure your volume is started. If you changed nfs.disable, restarting your volume is known to work.
13:14 doekia volume is so well started that is is already mounted on another mount point
13:21 doekia ~php

13:21 samppah @nfs
13:21 glusterbot samppah: To mount via nfs, most distros require the options, tcp,vers=3 -- Also an rpc port mapper (like rpcbind in EL distributions) should be running on the server, and the kernel nfs server (nfsd) should be disabled
13:21 doekia did you face same issue as me? such has not way to have nfs mount working?
13:24 samppah iirc portmapper not running has caused issues for me
