00:11 Mick27 purpleidea: seems like the upgrade script did not move the content of the glusterd dir
00:11 purpleidea what upgrade script/
00:11 purpleidea ?
00:11 Mick27 purpleidea: well probably none, nothing must have been packaged in the debian scripts
00:12 purpleidea if you think an upgrade script could be easily included, ping semiosis with the patch.
00:12 Mick27 ok
00:13 purpleidea glad to hear it's working now :)
00:14 Mick27 haven't rebooted the cluster

00:42 Mick27 used to work in 3.2, I wonder if something new needs to be added

01:59 Mick27 "mount.nfs: requested NFS version or transport protocol is not supported" this is still on
01:59 glusterbot Mick27: make sure your volume is started. If you changed nfs.disable, restarting your volume is known to work.
02:00 Mick27 those wonders
02:00 Mick27 restarting the volume helped

09:12 warci hi guys, i have an extremely basic question, but i just can't get it to work
09:13 warci i've created a volume of a single brick
09:13 warci but now i want to replicate this brick on another one
09:13 warci i did add-brick replica 2
09:14 warci so now i see the two bricks, but how do i get gluster to sync the existing data?
09:14 warci tried heal and rebalance, but nothing happens

09:53 Mick27 howdy folks
09:53 Mick27 happy sunday
09:54 Mick27 I ran into a issue in my newly installed 3.4 volume
09:54 Mick27 long story short, upgrade from 3.2 to 3.4 went wrong so I went ahead and recreated a new volume
09:55 Mick27 I can mount the volume via nfs
09:55 Mick27 but if I reboot one node
09:55 Mick27 then I cannot remount the nfs until I restart the volume it self

12:06 warci guys?
12:07 warci don't want to spam, but somebody has to know how to transform an existing vol with one brick into a replicated volume, no?

15:44 dbruhn whats the question?
16:11 Pavid7 joined #gluster
16:22 dbruhn Anyone have any idea on how to remove all extended attributes from a directory? I have something wonky and it won't let me remove one from one of my brick directories

16:38 Mick27 dbruhn: which os ?
16:38 Mick27 distro I meant
16:38 dbruhn red hat, I got it
16:38 Mick27 ok
16:38 Mick27 for i in `attr -lq .`; do   setfattr -x trusted.$i .; done
16:39 Mick27 I use this
16:39 dbruhn I had to manually manipulate a few things and had accidentally put one in wrong, and it was being a pain
16:39 dbruhn Mick27, what were you asking earlier? I wasn't in the room when you asked
16:39 Mick27 I don't recall
16:39 Mick27 I had so many stuff to do today
16:39 Mick27 basically I screwed my install
16:40 Mick27 spent the afternoon fixing it
16:40 Mick27 what is the best way to populate a brick
16:40 Mick27 as in
16:40 dbruhn agh that stucks, I am in the same boat kind of
16:40 Mick27 copying via the mount
16:40 Mick27 or
16:40 Mick27 copying directly in the brick storage
16:42 dbruhn Sounds dangerous...
16:43 Mick27 yeah
16:43 Mick27 I did it via the mount
16:43 Mick27 took for ever
16:43 Mick27 damn small prestashop files
16:43 Mick27 small file for php, nfs still the way to go ?
16:44 dbruhn NFS is better for small files, Gluster isn't really an ideal PHP storage
16:44 dbruhn because of how php interacts with the files
16:45 dbruhn it stats the files every time it opens them, which triggers a self-heal on the file
16:45 dbruhn slows things way down
