02:35 elico I have a situation of 2 replica nodes with 2.5TB which I want to store IMAP maildir storage of dovecot.
02:36 elico I am having couple issues while testing the setup of 1 node with dovecot+postfix with a mount of a glusterfs volume 2 replicate.
02:36 elico The main issue is read\write speed

13:51 JustinClift JoeJulian: Hmmm, I think it's kind of useful in some ways, to demonstrate Community strength.  When I did this for PostgreSQL (decade ago) it was extremely helpful for getting more business users.
13:52 JustinClift JoeJulian: We should be able to counter the perceived endorsement thing by explicitly stating something to disclaim it on the page.
13:53 JustinClift JoeJulian: The other thought there is that if we receive substantial feedback (positive/negative, etc) we may need to think about it more too.

14:13 JoeJulian JustinClift: I wonder if there's like an Angie's List for consultants (and one that you don't have to pay to use). Could be even more useful as it would allow for customer feedback.

16:57 fossxplorer Will Gluster be useful to DC to DC two way sync of data?
16:57 fossxplorer I'm looking for a distributed FS that's able to sync data quickly between 2 separate DCs.

17:18 hagarth fossxplorer: glusterfs does unidirectional geo-replication. bi-directional geo-replication is not yet supported.
17:23 fossxplorer hagarth, so for like master A to slave B sync will work, but not the other way around right?

17:43 JoeJulian fossxplorer: Would you like a pony with that? ;)
17:46 JoeJulian fossxplorer: Straight replication will keep A & B in sync instantly, but latency will be amplified. geo-replication will sync A to B but not B to A. It's also not synchronous but doesn't affect your clients due to latency.
17:47 fossxplorer Hmm i see. I need to able read/write on both, so this won't work for my purpose
17:48 JoeJulian Good luck. :)
17:49 fossxplorer thx
