09:20 partner any idea what bug should i kick to get the log rotation forward on the debian packages? even on 3.6.1 its still mostly broken and does not HUP the necessary processes, fixed version exists from 2011

11:12 gothos partner: isn't debian using the upstream logrotate files?
11:38 glusterbot News from newglusterbugs: [Bug 1159970] glusterfs.spec.in: deprecate *.logrotate files in dist-git in favor of the upstream logrotate files <https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1159970>

12:30 partner nope, it has some of its own confs like this one: https://github.com/semiosis/glusterfs-debian/blob/precise-glusterfs-3.6/debian/glusterfs-common.logrotate
12:31 partner as far as i can tell it has been always broken to some degree, fails to kick proper processes and thus log rotation doesn't either happen at all or at least the filehandle stays on the old log and eventually there are no logs at all
12:32 partner every single debian user needs to fix those manually
12:34 partner result being:
12:34 partner -rw------- 1 root root         0 Sep 27 06:29 srv-data.log
12:34 partner -rw------- 1 root root 129598743 Dec 15 17:40 srv-data.log.1
12:34 glusterbot partner: -rw-----'s karma is now -1
12:34 glusterbot partner: -rw-----'s karma is now -2
12:34 partner haha
12:34 partner couple of years to get it up to 2 and now its already 12 hours later -2 :DDD
12:35 partner as 06:25 is the default daily cron that just shows its rotated the file once and been filling up the same ever since
12:36 partner Keywords: EasyFix, Patch, Triaged - "just do it" :)
12:37 partner (oh, misread the bot output, i hope we don't have anybody with that nick around :)

12:49 gothos ah okay, so pretty much the same as on centos, but I think at least with the next version it should be fixed for us
12:50 gothos the upstream files should work after all
13:20 ndevos partner: for debian packages create a bug on https://launchpad.net/~gluster and refer to 1159970 for the RPMs
