05:16 jackdpeterson2 Hello all, ran into a totally weird issue tonight while provisioning a new cluster. https://github.com/purpleidea/puppet-gluster/issues/36 is where I have as much info as I believe is relevant to the edge-case. Doesn't appear that puppet-gluster is the cause as after disabling puppet and manually setting the glusterd.info file ... *something* is causing the UUID and operating  version to get set to unexpected values. Anyone hvave any ideas?
05:17 purpleidea jackdpeterson: now that you've ruled out puppet-gluster, do you mind just adding a quick note in the above ticket to that effect? thanks
05:18 purpleidea jackdpeterson2: ^

16:45 Rodrigo_US JoeJulian, I don't understand how to recover using this tool :/
16:46 JoeJulian That's disappointing.
16:46 Rodrigo_US JoeJulian, how do I know which one is the good file ?
16:46 JoeJulian You're the only one that could possibly answer that.
16:47 JoeJulian Define criteria and choose the one that meets that criteria.
16:49 JoeJulian For instance, with a log file you might choose the one that has the most recent entry. With a VM you might mount the filesystems within it and look at those files. With an MS Word doc, you might just make a copy of each and let the user decide.
16:49 JoeJulian If there were clearly defined rules, there would be no such thing as split-brain.
16:49 jackdpeterson @purpleidea -- repinging on https://github.com/purpleidea/puppet-gluster/issues/36  Same issue except on ubuntu 14.04 (so at least it's reproduceable!)

23:51 tg2 is there a magical performance setting that allows gluster to write faster than ~600MB/s to an underlying brick?  I seem to hit a wall at 4000iops/600MBPS no matter how fast the underlyin gbrick is (testing in /dev/shm ffs)
23:51 tg2 i am writing a shell script to recreate the issue and will test it under RHS/RHEL with an AWS instance
23:52 tg2 smells like an artificial limit since cpu is not bound, i/o is not bound and it's being accessed through loopback adapter so its not latency/network related
