07:59 motty Hi, I'm searching for a solution for this problem: OS: Linux (SLES11 SP3) I'm interested in getting the result of fdisk info list where the devicename is the alias and not the original location. command: fdisk -l |grep /dev/alias-of-devicename any suggestions for this problem? thanks!
07:59 motty It's a gluster issue
08:01 motty anyone?

16:41 dgbaley Hey. I'm trying to play around with TLS with v3.7.4 and http://www.gluster.org/community/documentation/index.php/SSL.
16:42 dgbaley I'm being told that ssl.cert-depth is not an option... did it move?
16:42 dgbaley When I do "gluster vol get <name> all | grep ssl" I only see the opts I've previously set, is there a way to dump everything available?
16:46 skoduri dgbaley, try "gluster vol set help | grep ssl"
16:53 dgbaley skoduri: thanks, but none of the ssl opts are there

17:13 skoduri dgbaley, seems like *ssl options are not public (which means subject to change)
17:13 dgbaley I actually have it working, it seems like the cert-depth is not 0 (anymore?)
17:13 dgbaley So it's at least 1 which is fine for me
17:19 skoduri okay! so did the option "ssl.cert-depth " work for you?
17:20 dgbaley No, it didn't. But I have clients mounting volumes which are signed by glusterfs.ca
17:21 David_Varghese joined #gluster
17:21 dgbaley Now I need to figure out how to get the fuse client to match the performance of NFSv3 so home directories are actually secure
17:21 skoduri alright..from the code and quick-test, looks like the option to be used is "ssl.certificate-depth"..fyi
17:22 dgbaley Ah, that worked.  iset it to 1 =) Thank you
17:22 skoduri welcome :)
17:24 David_Varghese hi can anyone point to a tutorial for using glusterfs with iscsi running on ubuntu os. i have try to google it but cant find step by step tutorial. many thanks in advance.
17:28 skoduri David_Varghese, http://gluster.readthedocs.org/en/latest/Administrator%20Guide/GlusterFS%20iSCSI/ may help
17:28 glusterbot Title: GlusterFS iSCSI - Gluster Docs (at gluster.readthedocs.org)
17:28 skoduri but the document says the steps have been tested in fedora/RHEL
17:29 David_Varghese skoduri, i look at it now. thanks.
17:29 skoduri alright..if you find any thing not working on ubuntu, maybe you could mail to gluster-users ML
17:33 David_Varghese skoduri, in the tutorial dont show how can i specify username and password for the iscsi? sorry if this a stupid question. i quite new with glusterfs and iscsi.
17:37 skoduri David_Varghese, sorry. I do not know..I haven't worked with iscsi either..
17:38 David_Varghese actually i manage to connect to the iscsi by following this tutorial : http://knowledgelayer.softlayer.com/procedure/accessing-block-storage-linux. however in the tutorial using ext3 file system. when i mount the storage on 2 server the data not in sync if i add/delete a files. then i found out that ext3 file system is not cluster aware. later i found glusterfs should do it.
17:41 skoduri the gluster doc mentions only IQN but not any username/passwd..maybe they are optional..
17:42 skoduri as I said I haven't worked on it..
17:42 skoduri please mail to the "gluster-users" mailing list if the steps listed in the doc doesn't work
17:42 David_Varghese i dont think so. my iscsi storage provider provide me the username and password. if not i cant connect to the storage.
17:45 skoduri hmm..maybe try setting  "/etc/iscsi/iscsid.conf" as mentioned in the link you gave
17:45 dlambrig the gluster doc’s example allows any initiator access.
17:48 David_Varghese ok ill try that

17:59 David_Varghese actually i got confuse with gluster doc GlusterFS iSCSI. it does not tell step by step from begining. what i did is install gluster-server and execute that command. do i need to create gluster volume?
