00:03 cpetersen_ OK I set cluster.server-quorum-type to server.
00:04 cpetersen_ and the quorum cluster.quorum-type: auto
00:04 cpetersen_ but I did have cluster.quorum-type set to auto before
00:05 cpetersen_ disconnected LAN of node then brought it back
00:05 cpetersen_ the problem was that I was using the gluster volume for both hosting VMs and as heartbeats for the ESXi HA
00:05 cpetersen_ which is bad
00:05 cpetersen_ so I stopped that
00:05 cpetersen_ the .vSphere-HA folder created by HA was the split-brain, so I just went and removed it from all nodes and restarted the gluster cluster
00:06 cpetersen_ then I removed the nfs shared datastore from being an HA heartbeat volume
00:06 cpetersen_ because that was kinda stupid
00:06 cpetersen_ live and learn I guess
00:07 cpetersen_ I wonder if KVM can do everything vmware can do
00:07 JoeJulian yep
00:07 cpetersen_ HA, DRS, vMotion

00:07 cpetersen_ I had a bad experience with Citrix Xen back in the day
00:10 cpetersen_ vmware is just so pretty looking
00:10 cpetersen_ =O
00:11 cpetersen_ anyway, have a great weekend
00:15 JoeJulian You too

04:42 jhc76 I need to reinstall OS on SSD on three gluster'd machines. Each machine has an array that's separate from the OS head drive. Glusterfs is in distributed mode. By reinstalling OS, Am I risking clustered data? Can I safely recover the gluster without a hitch?

18:49 Peppard hi... how do i know, that a "heal full" has completed? using "heal info"?

19:48 Peppard also: is a "heal full" required after adding an empty brick to a replicated volume (to increase the replica count)? or is a normal heal sufficient?

20:48 jhc76 hi guys, I need to reinstall OS on all three systems using distributed volume. what is the best method to approach this? should I do it one system at a time or can I reinstall OS on all and just create a new volume using existing bricks?
