14:01 Ddoke1 Hello world
14:04 Ddoke1 I have a quick little question. Can someone confirm I can use GlusterFS on remote clients over the Internet? I.E. 1 GlusterFS server acting as storage for 2 or more clients that are between 10 and 150ms away.

14:46 Javezim Hey all
14:46 Javezim Running 3.7.16 on Ubuntu 14.04.3
14:46 Javezim Just upgraded samba to 4.3.11, now cannot access it via the VFS Modules - http://paste.ubuntu.com/23334009/
14:46 glusterbot Title: Ubuntu Pastebin (at paste.ubuntu.com)
14:47 Javezim Accessing the cluster fails from all machines and I just see the pasted errors over and over
14:47 Javezim anyone know what this is?

17:06 Ddoke1 I answered my own question with the doc. I need to use Georeplication
17:09 Ddoke1 Is there a master master replication mechanism I could use over the Internet?

18:11 JoeJulian Ddoke1: no. It's a very complex problem that has been dreamed about but nobody has started on a solution for master-master geo-replication.

18:15 JoeJulian Sorry, Javezim, I don't see any gluster libraries in that traceback and I'm very weak in samba code understanding. Try back on Monday here, or in #samba. Sometimes the vfs folks are around.

18:47 Ddoke1 JoeJulian: Thank you
18:55 Ddoke1 Is there any kind of solution to mount a directory on multiple machines that share the same content with read and write permissions? No need to replicate the data. Just synchronous access to the same content over the Internet. It's to store small audio files. Like Voicemails, sometimes smaller
18:56 JoeJulian Does it have to be a posix filesystem, or is this your own plugin to Asterisk or FreeSwitch?
18:58 JoeJulian If you have control over how you're storing and retrieving your recordings, I would store them in an object store (S3 or Swift).
18:59 JoeJulian It can also be scaled out easily.

20:01 Ddoke1 JoeJulian: sorry for responding late
20:02 Ddoke1 Not yet a plugin. But I've set up a multi master FreeSWITCH environment and am trying to find alternative to how I'm storing VMs and other little files.
20:02 Ddoke1 E.g. names recorded when participants join a conference call
20:03 Ddoke1 Definitely considering S3

22:42 Javezim @JoeJulian, Turns out I needed to reinstall these 'apt-get install --reinstall libtevent0 libtalloc2' so now the folders are accessible however trying to read/write from them I get 'an unexpected network error occured' is anyone running Samba 4.3.11 or 4.1.6 having the same issue on gluster 3.7.16? I mean ive tried both samba vfs and just normal samba and both have the same thing.
