00:18 Javezim Hey gang, having this awful issues with Glusterfs 3.7.16...basically on the servers and clients it keeps maxing one core to 100%, during this the mountpoint becomes unusable
00:19 Javezim Have to kill the process which drops the mount, then remount it again
00:19 Javezim anyone facing something similar?

03:06 Cyno Hi #Gluster, I have an issue with my current setup which im not sure how to diagnose
03:08 Cyno I updated from 3.7.13 to 3.7.16 and now it seems that the clients (using fuse) are keeping a File Descriptor open
03:08 Cyno This causes our PHP pools (its a wordpress site) to hang
03:08 magrawal joined #gluster
03:10 Cyno If i unmount the clients (nodes?) after the timeout it releases the locked files.

06:21 Cyno Hey #Gluster I'm wondering if someone can help me out in how i force my gluster volume to do a heal and show me the info
06:23 Cyno gluster volume heal gv info, always reports 0, and "info healed" reports that it has been unsuccessful on bricks that are down
06:23 prth joined #gluster
06:29 jtux joined #gluster
06:31 itisravi Cyno: 'info healed' is deprecated. The 'unsuccessful..' message is an incorrect message that needs to be fixed.
06:31 itisravi Cyno: If gv info is showing zero entries, then nothing is to be healed.

06:56 Cyno oh hey itisravi, its Tim from the mailing list.
06:56 Cyno "Can't delete or move file off mounted brick"
06:57 itisravi Cyno: hey tim. I looked at the xattrs and stat value..everything seems to be ok there.
06:58 Cyno itisravi: :'(
06:58 itisravi Cyno: So is the problem still that you're unable to delete that file?
06:59 Cyno itisravi: the problem is that when the file is accessed via PHP it ends up in a iowait state
06:59 Cyno or any process that acesses that file
07:00 itisravi Cyno: does the mount log say anything?
07:01 Cyno itisravi: Nope today's logs dont show anything on the mountpoint
07:03 itisravi Cyno: hangs can sometimes happen due to stale blocked locks. Are you in a position to stop and start the volume?
07:04 Cyno itisravi: Yes i can stop/start it. But this has happened for the past 3-4 days and is happening alot, even after reboots and start and stop's of volumes
07:06 hackman joined #gluster
07:07 Cyno itisravi: just now i tried to "ls" the directory where the file is. and the ls process is in a uninterruptible state

07:10 itisravi Cyno: can you take a statedump of the mount?
07:11 itisravi kill -USR1 <pid of the mount process>
07:11 itisravi Cyno: I'm guessign you are using fuse mounts?
07:11 Cyno correct
07:12 itisravi okay before you run the command, create /var/run/gluster on the machine if the path does not exist.
07:12 itisravi That is where the statedumps get saved.
07:12 harish_ joined #gluster
07:13 Cyno itisravi: yep. Dump saved.
07:13 inodb joined #gluster
07:14 itisravi Cyno: okay one more dump now.
07:14 itisravi and can you upload them somewhere?
07:15 Cyno itisravi: take a 2nd dump of the same machine? or the other mount point
07:15 itisravi Cyno: same mount. So that we can compare the two.

13:34 post-factum rafa_, no point to repeat the same question :/
13:35 post-factum rafa_, yes, it is possible if you have redundancy
13:35 rafa_ thank you! And sorry for repeating :)
13:35 post-factum rafa_, but anyway you will have to upgrade each client, that involves client-side downtime
13:35 rafa_ I see
