19:13 nh2 JoeJulian: OK, I just figured why my parallel copying program is slow. stat() is a synchronous syscall, always, and there's no asynchronous version of it

22:26 arrakaij good evening. I was here a few days ago because i had the problem that my glusterfs test system is getting slow after a few hours. we did blame it on zfs and/or memory
22:27 arrakaij however, i changed the underlaying fs to xfs, added memory to the machines and its still stalling at 3mb/s after some time
22:28 arrakaij also did a memory check on the systems, showed all fine. are there any more causes that gluster stalls after time?
22:56 nh2 JoeJulian: OK, I have now changed my program accordingly so that it stat()s from independent OS pthreads, and got a 20x speedup over cp/rsync. https://github.com/nh2/copier
