00:33 gospod2 JoeJulian, it was rather perfectly elegant remove-brick>add-brick concept. where has gluster been all my life? i think im in love.
00:37 gospod2 JoeJulian, I have last 2 questions before I deploy. 1) local glusterfs mount or libvirt mounted glusterfs? 2) which linux bonding mode for quad gb nics directly attached to eachother?
00:48 JoeJulian gospod2: libvirt uses libgfapi. That avoids two context switches so it is much more efficient.
00:49 JoeJulian gospod2: 2: Never used bonding in production. Every employer has been against it from the start.
01:26 gospod2 ok thanks thats it i guess =D

17:36 Guest12045 Hey. I plan to use glusterfs for one, but very business critical application. Our infra is not that big, so nothing fancy
17:37 Guest12045 My idea is t oset up 5 servers - one physical with local disks, 2 virtual that get its storage from scaleio and 2 virtual servers that get their storage from IBM DCS
17:37 Guest12045 read/write speeds on physical and scaleio servers are roughly the same
17:37 Guest12045 but DCS is slooow
17:38 Guest12045 How would that impact glusterfs performance?
17:38 Guest12045 I mean
17:38 Guest12045 is there a way to set priority groups or something like this?
17:39 Guest12045 My concers is that DCS storage. How would a slow storage impact end-users? This is my actual question :P

19:45 JoeJulian Guest12045: If you're doing a replica 3 across all three storage types, anything that waits for a flush will still have to wait for the slowest response.
