11:09 bipul Hi.
11:09 glusterbot bipul: Despite the fact that friendly greetings are nice, please ask your question. Carefully identify your problem in such a way that when a volunteer has a few minutes, they can offer you a potential solution. These are volunteers, so be patient. Answers may come in a few minutes, or may take hours. If you're still in the channel, someone will eventually offer an a

19:57 Chewi anyone have any experience using reiserfs as a brick? I'm not overly familiar with gluster but df is reporting twice as much usage as both du and the original filesystem I copied the data from (also reiserfs). I gather reiserfs doesn't have preallocated space for the tree like ext4 does, perhaps all those hardlinks really make a difference?
19:58 Chewi and I'm talking in the order of 2.4GB vs 4.8GB here
20:00 Chewi mind you, I think XFS doesn't have preallocated space either and that is the recommended filesystem for gluster. is this observation normal?

22:14 protoporpoise howdy all, I was wondering if anyone had any experience with improving the performance of setting volume options using the 'gluster volume set ...' command?
22:14 protoporpoise Situation: Have about 40 volumes in a 3.10 cluster, and as we're setting about 15 options on each volume its /very/ slow to provision volumes or a new cluster.
22:14 protoporpoise each volume option seems to take about 1 second (or more) to set, so 40*15 so it could be 10 minutes just to set the options for each volume!

22:30 Chewi I need to sleep now and it hasn't copying yet but I've tried switching to XFS (albeit with 2KB block size vs 4KB before) and so far it's behaving very much better
