13:30 pdurbin moritz: thank you for logging #crimsonfu! it's been a whole year already! http://irclog.perlgeek.de/crimsonfu/2013-01-17#i_6344277
13:32 moritz pdurbin: you're welcome. 21580 lines logged :-)
13:33 pdurbin wow. more than i would expect :)
13:37 moritz (that includes all joins and quits)
13:38 moritz 17053 "normal" lines
13:40 pdurbin hmm, i forgot that ilbot logs quits. they cgi doesn't display them
13:40 pdurbin the cgi
13:42 moritz erm wait, leaves
13:42 moritz the problem is that quits aren't announced per channel, just per user
13:43 moritz so to map a quite to a channel, you have to keep track which users are in which channels
13:43 moritz there are perl modules that do that, but they weren't around back when I wrote ilbot
13:43 pdurbin hmm. interesting
13:44 pdurbin only the joins are shown by the cgi, but i find them to be noisy sometimes. some people constantly join and quit :(
13:45 pdurbin maybe ilbot should have an option to not display joins in the cgi
13:46 moritz it wouldn't be too much code, but I'd need some solid ideas about the user interface first
13:46 pdurbin sure
13:46 moritz first the question is how to tell the cgi
13:47 moritz I see basically two options
13:47 moritz a cookie, or an URL parameter
13:47 moritz URL parameters are easy to lose
13:47 moritz cookies might work, but so far I've tried to avoid too much state in the UI
13:48 pdurbin oh, i was thinking of a global setting. for the person (like me) who runs an ilbot. it would affect all the channels i log
13:49 moritz and then what happens if somebody gives you a link pointing to a line with just a join or topic change, and you've suppressed its display?
13:49 moritz ah, that might work
13:49 pdurbin something to think about :)
13:49 moritz might even be easier to ask ilbot not to log them in the first place
13:49 pdurbin i still owe you a pull request for the mobile friendly view... <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width" />
13:52 pdurbin yeah, like you said, maybe don't even log the joins and leaves
13:57 moritz if you want, you can edit ilbot2.pl and delete the chanjoin/chanquit/chanpart subs
14:03 pdurbin ah. will take a look. thanks. but again, maybe a config option for that
14:04 moritz sure, but that takes time until I get a round tuit
14:05 pdurbin of course :)
