11:27 marasgp hello, I'm trying to install ilbot on a CentOS 6 installation. I reach the stage when the database is to be created, but this step fails with: Now testing your database connection...
11:27 marasgp Database connection is fine, creating the schema for you...
11:27 marasgp Schema creation failed: DBD::mysql::db do failed: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `ilbot_lines`;
11:28 marasgp DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `ilbot_day`;
11:28 marasgp DROP TABLE' at line 2 at ./install line 116, <$_[...]> chunk 1.
11:28 marasgp any ideas?
11:41 marasgp moritz: you see my question?
11:41 moritz yes
11:42 moritz marasgp: but I have no idea what's wrong
11:42 marasgp moritz: that's a pity :)
11:42 moritz marasgp: what happens if you do   mysql <your connection parameters>  < sql/schema.mysql
11:43 marasgp moritz: it works
11:43 marasgp well, there is no output
11:46 marasgp moritz: I come to the next step in the installation now. will try from there, thanks!
11:51 moritz no output is good :-)
11:56 marasgp moritz: I got through, but when I run it I get Launching logger...
11:56 marasgp Server error occurred! Closing Link: localhost (Bad user info)
11:56 marasgp Lost connection to server localhost.
11:56 marasgp what user info is that?
11:56 moritz marasgp: dunno, ask your IRC server :-)
11:56 marasgp haha
11:57 moritz marasgp: maybe it's doing an ident lookup or so
11:57 marasgp yep will chek the logs
12:40 marasgp moritz: hmm, i don't understand this. I can connect using irssi on the server running ilbot with the same user and nick. are there more information you can specify in the config file that could be useful?
12:42 moritz marasgp: is the nick that the bot uses available?
12:42 marasgp yes
12:42 moritz does the server maybe limit the number of connections per IP?
12:43 moritz fwiw there are no more settings for the bot than those from the example config file
12:43 marasgp ok
12:53 marasgp moritz: yes! i can now connect (it was the 'bot' username that wasn't allowed in ilbot2.pl)
12:53 moritz marasgp: ilbot2.pl doesn't have any such restrictions; like it's the server
15:53 marasgp joined #ilbot
15:57 marasgp moritz: I had to rush away. So I managed to get ilbot to join my channel. However, it is not obvious to me how to configure the web interface. Could you give me some guidance?
16:03 moritz marasgp: do you mean "set up" when you say "configure"?
16:03 moritz because once there's running, there isn't much to configure
16:03 marasgp moritz: yes
16:03 marasgp hmm
16:04 marasgp what would the address be then?
16:04 moritz well, the one you entered when the installer ran :-)
16:05 bshum You'll want to copy the output's .conf file to apache or wherever and then activate it.  And reload apache.
16:05 marasgp sorry for being a noob here. I only get to the  apache welcome
16:05 marasgp ok
16:05 bshum It ought to be wherever you specified the root files
16:05 bshum For the installation
16:05 bshum There should be a file like hostname.conf in there
16:05 bshum Copy that to like /etc/apache2/sites-available/... or such
16:05 bshum And then enable it.
16:06 moritz a2ensite hostname.conf
16:06 moritz and then   service apache2 restart
16:07 moritz actually for just testing there is a much simpler way
16:07 moritz you can say    plackup bin/ilbot.psgi # in the installation directory
16:07 moritz and then you have a test server running at http://localhost:5000/
