06:20 codex pdurbin, moritz: just finished writing some nodejs + socket.io stuff to view IRC logs in real time
06:20 codex if you will find it useful, i can contribute
06:20 codex a few of the channels I am in with old friends/co-workers loved this
06:21 moritz well, the ilbot code base is in perl, and will stay that way
06:21 codex since most of them can't use irc during work at this point in their life
06:21 codex moritz: this is really an extension to just viewing the logs
06:21 codex my bot is also i perl
06:24 moritz codex: so, how does that work? there's the perl code for viewing the logs on the web the normal way, and then the node.js code in addition to that?
06:24 moritz listening on a different port?
06:24 codex yea - the nodejs creates a web viewer on a different port
06:24 codex the real benefit is realtime sync via websockets
06:24 codex so someone with a web browser can read in real time
06:26 moritz yes, that might be interesting, though TBH I still have my doubts
06:26 codex :)
06:26 codex if you have a sec, i can show you an example
06:27 moritz in particular I don't see the point of introducing another language in the backend
06:27 moritz yes, I have a sec :-)
12:14 pdurbin me too
12:14 pdurbin codex: show us :)
20:47 codex pdurbin: i'll show you at work
20:47 codex i added auth and added to the prod. channel, so for now it's a tad useless
21:06 pdurbin oh. auth
