02:01 bulk88 so it failed or not, or its a race condition?
02:20 ingy bulk88: it only failed on one of the 8 or so perl versions. And then passed on another try. Could very well be a race.
02:21 ingy Mohawk, @nanis tested and closed the TestML issue
02:22 ingy I asked him to test Inline::C and Pegex next
02:55 mohawk ingy, that was some damn fine work
02:55 mohawk ingy++
02:55 mohawk this is how we turn naysayers into useful community members
04:29 ether ingy: I'm getting a lot of failing test reports now in random modules due to Moo prototypes + Alt::Devel::GlobalDestruction - please release a fix
15:29 mst ingy: btw, the pattern we've used for this for DBIC testing has been http://is.gd/l9cgzI
15:29 mst ingy: I feel like that'd be a better answer for Alt:: dists in general
15:31 mst ingy: i.e. have the user load 'Alt::Whatever;' early, explicitly
15:32 mst ingy: that way it's opt in and it can coexist nicely with other alt versions and the original in a single lib tree
17:55 sivoais ingy: I don't know if you saw this PR <https://github.com/ingydotnet/devel-perllog-pm/pull/1>, so I'm pinging you :-)
19:38 ether yeah, it needs to be much more obvious when an Alt is being loaded and being clear that it was intentional
19:38 ether brian d foy already got upset at the alpha Test::Mores mucking up his testing history; if an Alt module gets near one of his modules we'll never hear the end of it
19:38 ether especially since it's not at all obvious when it's happened
19:38 ether with Test::More, at least we could see the version in the list of prereqs being loaded
19:39 ether but Alt::* is not an explicit prereq so we won't see it show up in reports
19:40 mohawk would showing the %INC entry help?
19:48 ether I don't see how - it would be the same as for the module it is masking
19:49 ether Foo::Bar coming from the Alt-Foo-Bar dist will have the same path as the original Foo::Bar
19:49 ether it's the presence of the Alt::Foo::Bar module that is the tipoff
20:09 mohawk this is a real expert-level thing, so i'm a little out of ideas ;-)
20:18 mst mohawk: the above approach that we used to bundle an alternative SQL::Abstract with a DBIC devrel is basically the only way to do it safely/sanely
20:30 mohawk there you go then

20:39 mst it's almost like my comments were relevant :)
