11:51 joshu_ hi guys any recommendations for small <100gb ssd for ubuntu?
11:55 slystone joshu_: good question. In terms of speed you can take pretty much whatever you want, the big question is on the reliance I guess. But I cannot advise you.
11:56 joshu_ yes that's my concern reliabltility…it's jungle finding one
11:56 slystone I have one from OCZ that works fine for me© since two years.
11:56 joshu_ I'm looking at samsung 840 120gb, intel 330 80gb
11:56 joshu_ sorry intel 330 60gb
11:57 slystone I can tell you it's a dream, my pc boots really fast.
11:57 slystone joshu_: I could use your help again. :3
11:58 joshu_ ok I'm going to leave in about 5mins to do some computer shopping but as soon as i get back i can help
11:58 slystone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2VHf5vpBy8 ← same interview, time 59'51
11:58 joshu_ just ned to find an ssd
11:59 slystone joshu_: cheers!
11:59 slystone Maybe pdurbin can advise you?
12:02 slystone joshu_: apparently, if you want reliability, you have to choose a good memory type. SLC is very good MLC is ok, and TLC is the worst.
12:03 slystone SLC = one bit per cell = very fast and very reliable. Two for MLC, and three for MLC.
12:04 joshu_ ok i read that getting a small one even though that's all i need say 60gb is bad and better to buy larger because of performance
12:06 joshu_ thinking samsung 840 128gb
12:24 joshu_ ok intel 330 60gb sad it is….mlc and seems reliable! I'll help you as soon as i'm back hopefully max 2 hours ;)
12:42 slystone :)
15:17 joshu_ slystone i'm back

15:19 joshu_ slystone http://softwarefreedom.org/events/2012/freedom-to-connect_moglen-keynote-2012.html

15:45 slystone I'm stuck at 59:51
