19:04 zleap hi
19:04 melodie_ zleap what's up?
19:04 melodie_ salut coyotus
19:05 coyotus lu melodie_
19:05 melodie_ :)
19:09 zleap melodie_, not much
19:10 melodie_ zleap I have uploaded two new ISOS of Bento, updated and latest improvements added. Are you interested to participate in Bento?
19:11 zleap erm
19:11 zleap i am doing torios
19:12 melodie_ does that work? I have read the posts at the mailing list and didn't see much going on.
19:12 zleap no idea
19:12 zleap i am just doingf the docs if / when they give me something to actually document
19:14 melodie_ ok
19:15 melodie_ I have seen Ali asked the people to test some desktop managers or window managers, and I haven't seen any responses yet. I am curious, so I have had a look on the web and found a thread at crunchbang forum, where one guy tested not less than 30 different light desktops, one per day! during one month. :D
19:16 zleap ok
19:17 melodie_ also Ali has written somewhere he would like the system to use not more than 50 MB when idle. That is not a bad idea, but that might lead to have a distro not so easy to use.
19:17 zleap we don't even know what software is being included yet
19:17 melodie_ I guess he doesn't either.
19:17 zleap yeah
19:17 zleap define easy to use
19:18 zleap i can usually adapt easily, but I am more computer literate than most people,  give this to someone who can barely change a windows wallpaper settings and they won't cope
19:18 melodie_ take a noobs, or simple end user, and have him face a linux distribution.
19:18 melodie_ ie: update the system

19:18 zleap unless people are able to THINK
19:18 melodie_ if you don't have something super easy to go with...
19:18 zleap i think in some cases people don't want to adapt,  they just want what they are used to
19:19 melodie_ zleap some people must have something super easy and no need to change the wallpaper. they just need to surf the web, and do very simple things.
19:19 zleap yeah
19:19 melodie_ the people who use a computer for the first time when quite old are often unable to adapt
19:20 melodie_ I have had clients such as what I am describing. I still managed to have them know how to surf and do a search, and even use a mail client.
19:20 zleap thye are not adapting from any thing if they are first time users
19:20 melodie_ no, but it does not mean it is easier, it all depends on the person
19:20 melodie_ they need to find the apps easily. they need to recognize the apps they need and know how to launch them
19:21 melodie_ some can't double click : their old fingers don't cope with that
19:21 melodie_ and of course they are numerous having old machines (someone gave them or sold for a low price) and therefore need systems that are snappy
19:26 melodie_ bb in a moment. :)
19:29 zleap ok
