11:53 melodie salut hello!
11:54 melodie Bento Sushi rc1 et rc2 sont disponibles
11:54 melodie are available rc1 and rc2:
11:54 melodie http://linuxvillage.org/en/2015/05/bento-openbox-vivid-rc1-et-rc2/
11:54 melodie http://linuxvillage.org/blog/2015/05/09/bento-openbox-vivid-rc1-et-rc2/
11:58 pdurbin melodie: can you apt-get install most things from ubuntu into bento?
11:58 melodie you can apt-get install everything from the Ubuntu repositories in Bento
11:58 pdurbin that's what I figured. thanks
11:59 pdurbin I switched from Fedora to Ubuntu a few months ago. I'm thinking of switching back.
11:59 melodie Bento is fully relying on the Ubuntu repositories and has since the beginning also been the opportunity for the work upstream
11:59 melodie pdurbin for what reason did you switch? For what reason would you switch back?
12:05 melodie New menu at the forum index: http://forum.linuxvillage.org/index.php
12:41 melodie pdurbin ?
12:54 melodie pdurbin I wonder if any OS can be used with vagrant?
12:56 pdurbin https://meta.discourse.org/t/importer-for-simple-machines-2-forums/17656 ;)
12:57 pdurbin melodie: I switched to Ubuntu because my laptop was clicking the mouse on its own. But it wasn't Fedora's fault. I think it's a hardware problem.
12:57 melodie I remember you mentioned that
12:58 pdurbin xinput disable 'Wacom ISDv4 E6 Finger touch'
12:58 pdurbin that's the fix
12:58 pdurbin which should work fine under Fedora too
12:58 melodie I see
12:59 melodie pdurbin about vagrant, do you know if it takes any kind of OS ?
13:00 melodie I might need to deploy virtual machines with Windows XP in it, in several machines using Linux Mint. I was wondering if a simple solution could be found for that purpose.
13:01 melodie I thought of Virtualbox which I know best, but I wonder if the Windows installs don't just stall when they are not in the host where they were originally installed.
13:01 melodie I tried once to export from one and import to the other and that didn't work.
13:01 pdurbin A list of base boxes for Vagrant - Vagrantbox.es - http://www.vagrantbox.es
13:01 pdurbin I used VirtualBox with Vagrant.
13:01 pdurbin use*
13:02 pdurbin I think of Vagrant as a way to automate the spinning up of a VirtualBox VM.
13:04 melodie I'm going to try to learn how to use that
13:04 melodie I see a box for Windows XP
13:04 melodie wao!
13:06 melodie pdurbin I'm in Bento Vivid right now. so "$ sudo apt-get install vagrant"
13:07 melodie pdurbin do you want to try the rc1 or rc2 which are available btw?
13:09 pdurbin I'm using Vagrant 1.6.5
13:11 melodie ok.
13:11 melodie vivid/universe vagrant all 1.6.5+dfsg1-2
13:17 pdurbin should be fine
13:19 pdurbin melodie: you could also try downloading official Windows images for VirtualBox from Microsoft at http://dev.modern.ie/tools/vms/
13:22 melodie "VMs EXPIRE AFTER 90 DAYS!"
13:22 melodie ^^
13:23 melodie also one thing is about the numerous updates coming once installed in virtualbox
13:24 melodie it would be nice to have them once only and from there being able to just copy the files to the other computers
13:25 melodie the vagrant box is huge, btw, 1 GB
13:26 melodie pdurbin how do you use vagrant along with virtualbox? What are the steps?
13:29 melodie reading here: http://docs.vagrantup.com/v2/getting-started/index.html
13:29 melodie I don't understand how they jump right away to:
13:30 melodie "$ vagrant init hashicorp/precise32"
13:30 pdurbin melodie: try cloning this repo and then `cd examples/javaee7` and then `vagrant up`: https://github.com/pdurbin/addressbookmvc/tree/master/examples/javaee7
13:30 melodie they don't explain that command : where does that "hashicorp/precise32" come from?
13:31 melodie pdurbin I don't have a fiber connection, I am already downloading a vagrantbox for windows xp ie8 right now, can't do more
13:31 pdurbin later then
13:31 melodie I just need to understand the missing parts of that documentation page
13:32 melodie do you think you can explain the  "hashicorp/precise32" part of that doc to me?
13:32 melodie I will have "IE8.XP.For.Vagrant.box"
13:32 melodie in a moment
13:32 pdurbin here it is explicit: https://github.com/pdurbin/addressbookmvc/blob/master/examples/javaee7/Vagrantfile ...   config.vm.box_url = "http://puppet-vagrant-boxes.puppetlabs.com/centos-65-x64-virtualbox-puppet.box"
13:33 pdurbin melodie: you can also ask in #vagrant
13:37 melodie thank you
