23:01 jdurand one note: marpa*c were not compiled with -g unfortunately - this is not a pb from a pure profiling point in terms of callers/callees - but if you want to have line information on these two I'll do a third shot - R2.xs si compiled with -g by default on my Linux/Debian
23:02 jdurand and I overlooked the -g for the other *.c, but I guarantee all objects were compiled with -fno-inline -Wno-inline
23:03 jdurand "on these too"

01:01 jeffreykegler judrand: Thanks for the inlined callgrind.  Looking at it, there is nothing that's obviously an issue.  But now that I'm refactoring internals, it's good to have a sense where the time is being consumed.
01:03 jeffreykegler Re another run with line information, let's hold off.  I'd like to see that someday, but perhaps after the upcoming phase 3.
01:30 jeffreykegler judrand: the call to value turns into calls to the bocage, ordering, tree and valuator Marpa objects ...
01:32 jeffreykegler These show up as routines named XS_Marpa__R2__Thin__[BVTO]_*, where the object letter is B for bocage, etc.
01:32 jeffreykegler They're not very visible, because they don't take much time.

19:12 jdurand Did you know that D.Conway recommends Marpa instead of Regexp::Grammars . C.f. any the failed logs on perl-5.18 at http://matrix.cpantesters.org/?dist=Regexp-Grammars+1.033

19:59 jeffreykegler jdurand: Re http://irclog.perlgeek.de/marpa/2014-01-27#i_8183756 -- yes, I've heard that.  Damian C. has recommended Marpa in a few contexts.
20:00 jeffreykegler Damian has put forward this great vision of grammar-driven-programming -- he's very eloquent on the topic -- and Marpa is a great way to drive this.
20:01 jeffreykegler Perl 6 is trying the same thing using left parsing.  But, if I can speak frankly, I am not convinced left parsing has what it takes to power their vision.
20:02 jeffreykegler Apologies -- need to go AFK now.
20:02 jdurand no pb - thx
