23:03 ronsavage jdurand: This sort of corresponds to my (since removed) listing of a Marpa-based parser for TAP. It too is line based, and my suggestion was probably not worth the effort.
23:05 ronsavage I was thinking originally to /firstly/ write a parser in Marpa and then that would be the basis of extending the TAP grammar itself (if people had suggestions)
23:06 ronsavage Oops "listing of a Marpa-based parser for TAP" meaning as a potential project for Marpa-based coders in the Marpa Papers.

00:24 jeffreykegler Re: http://irclog.perlgeek.de/marpa/2014-01-31#i_8201314 -- Actually, TAP *has* a Marpa-powered parser on CPAN, which was written by Andrew Rodland.
00:25 jeffreykegler It was a very early adaptation of Marpa, and AFAIK the first Marpa-powered parser to take a two-layered approach -- on Marpa parser feeding another.
00:25 jeffreykegler As such, it was very influential on the SLIF.
00:27 jeffreykegler So Marpa can successfully be applied to languages with a strong line-by-line structure.
01:44 ronsavage Ahh. I did not get that when you suggested taking the idea off the project list it for for that reason
01:46 jeffreykegler Yes.  Andrew Rodland has already written a Marpa-driven TAP parser which AFAIK is quite fills the need quite nicely.
