15:05 jeffreykegler This morning's fun reading for me:  On reddit "Perl needs a new killer app" -- http://www.reddit.com/r/perl/comments/254g8m/concerned_about_perl_unpopularity/chdt0sg
15:05 jeffreykegler "How about Marpa?" is the reply -- http://www.reddit.com/r/perl/comments/254g8m/concerned_about_perl_unpopularity/cheu3vw
15:06 jeffreykegler Perl needs more folks to notice that it has a new killer app :-)
15:06 jeffreykegler (A further reply does make the good point that Marpa is not an app, but a developer's tool.)
15:29 jeffreykegler The context, btw, was one of those "Perl (un)popularity threads".  As usual, it didn't mention what for me is the major reason for staying with Perl -- CPANtesters.
15:31 jeffreykegler The thread did mention CPAN, but it's not the same.  Other languages have code repositories, but none have a CPANtesters.
15:31 jeffreykegler If any language XYZ had an XYZtesters approaching the quality of CPANtesters, I would look very hard at language XYZ.
