17:10 jeffreykegler I'm thinking about languages to use in expressing SLIF semantics, and am considering Lua.
17:11 jeffreykegler An advantage would be Marpa could be written as a Lua add-on, so the replacement SLIF becomes Lua with Marpa calls.
17:11 jeffreykegler As I understand it, I can also call Lua from within Marpa, while Marpa is being called from Lua.
17:12 jeffreykegler The Perl XS library would become a wrapper around the Marpa-enhanced Lua.
17:13 jeffreykegler Lua has disadvantages -- for example, no Unicode.
17:14 jeffreykegler But one thing an embeddable/extensible language would have to be is small, and that means not having everything everyone would like.
20:17 Aria Oh that is interesting.

22:00 Aria Lack of unicode is not so fun.

23:08 ronsavage If Lua lacks unicode then even giving examples written in Lua, let alone any sort of manual, would have to be limited/crippled to avoid real-world usage.
