18:15 jeffreykegler pczarn: "precedenced" means grammatical precedence, as for example in the table at the top of the perlop page.
18:19 jeffreykegler Rule ranks are for cases where there are choice points in a parse tree.  Two different rules are possible at the same locations.
18:20 jeffreykegler The two are similar enough to cause lots of confusion, but different enough so you cannot really use one to implement the other. :-)
18:21 jeffreykegler Btw, this is why I have started calling precedenced rules "precedenced" instead of "prioritized" -- "priority" sounded too much like it was a synonym for ranking.
