15:55 jeffreykegler Elsewhere, Paul Bennett asks about a Perl 6 port of Marpa.  AFAIK there is no work on such a thing ...
15:56 jeffreykegler and I am recommending that volunteers hold off on starting one.
15:56 jeffreykegler Several reasons:
15:58 jeffreykegler 1.) While the people in Perl 6 have long been extremely helpful and encouraging to us, they are focused elsewhere and for some time, will not have the tuits required to assist in a Marpa port.
16:01 jeffreykegler 2.) The requirements for a quality Marpa port are, if anything, becoming more complex.  I am not clear how packages which do a lot of string handling need to interface with NFG, and I don't think this issue will settle for a while.
16:02 jeffreykegler While Perl 6 is adding/evolving NFG, Marpa is in fact moving *away* from direct Unicode support, and will be taking a more Lua-like approach.
16:05 jeffreykegler 3.)  A port of the current Marpa::R2 might have a limited "shelf life", since Kollos should come before Perl 6 stabilizes, or in the same time frame.

19:04 jdurand_ Re http://irclog.perlgeek.de/marpa/2015-04-21#i_10478165 - IMHO what could be interesting is not a Marpa::R2 port but a revival of a Marpa Thin-only interface - leaving 100% of the interface back into the interpreter
