16:27 rns jeffreykegler: I did some work on the D2L issues (as you might have seen already from the github).
16:27 rns Now that the 'readme-driven development' [4] of the LUIF reached some shape,  looks like it's time for me to write some (at least) proof-of-concept code  in [1] per issues [2] and [3].
16:27 rns Are there any show-stoppers I should address in the LUIF doc before I start?

19:46 jeffreykegler rns: re http://irclog.perlgeek.de/marpa/2015-05-02#i_10536879 -- the balance between writing & prototyping is up to you.
19:47 jeffreykegler I do see the ultimate objective as a LUIF manual, which we can put in front a a wider community and get comments on.
19:49 jeffreykegler But of course for the comment phase really to be helpful, we'll need to clarify as much as we can what it makes sense for us to propose and what does not, and prototyping can be useful or even essential.
19:50 jeffreykegler As a comparision, the Perl 6 input phase may have been a little too abstract -- all discussion and no code ...
19:50 jeffreykegler But you could also make the point that Perl 6 *did* have a prototype to base its original discussion on, and that prototype was called Perl 5.
19:54 jeffreykegler Re "show stoppers" -- the LUIF manual is of course, very, very sketchy at this point, but
19:54 jeffreykegler i would not call anything as "show stopper" if you feel that prototyping is now more useful than writing.
19:55 jeffreykegler A lot must also depend on one's sense of which will be more fun -- you make a lot more progress if you are propelled by a sense of fun.
21:27 lwa Is there some way in the SLIF to specify a per-parse argument that won't be modified by Marpa? I tried `$recce->value($blessed_object)`, but that turns out to do the equivalent of `$per_parse_arg = $blessed_object->new` internally.
21:28 lwa As a workaround, I hide the "new" method from Marpa via `local *new`, but that's terribly hacky.
